Jummahs for the Ummah

Take action each Friday for persecuted Muslims around the world.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
None of you will have faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.

February - Black History Month - is not only a time to learn and celebrate Black history (and history-in-the-making, such as South Africas case at the ICJ), but a time to recommit ourselves to racial equality - a truth and a value lifted up by our Prophet (SAW).  Black History Month is a time to ensure that we are striving to consistently incorporate Islams racial equality understanding into our perspectives and practices, into our community dynamics, and into our country's policies and practices.  Segregation and serious disparities harm local Black families, including some of our own local brothers and sisters in faith.  Many Black people in the US and around the world have been speaking up bravely for Palestine: let us speak up for racial equality with the courage and commitment to justice modeled by our Prophet (SAW).  Please explore this piece by Yaqeen Institute for more insight into Black Muslim American history as well as current experiences of Black Muslims in the US.
