Janaza Prayer for our beloved Sister Sofia Matveeva
Salatul Janazah (Funeral prayer) of Sister Sofia Matveeva will be held at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) on Saturday, May 20th after Duhr (afternoon prayer). Duhr at ICP is at 1:30pm. Arrive by 1:25pm.
Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park anytime between 2:15-2:45pm.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sofia Matveeva, a beloved soul who brought light and joy to all who knew her. Sofia departed this world on May 5th 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and inspiration.
Born on September 19th 1992, Sofia was a remarkable individual from the very beginning. She possessed a radiant smile that could brighten even the darkest of days and a kind heart that touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Sofia's unwavering optimism and determination were infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to find beauty in the simplest of things.
Throughout her life, Sofia was a pillar of strength and resilience. She faced numerous challenges with unwavering grace and courage, serving as an inspiration to those around her. Sofia's unwavering faith in the goodness of humanity and her ability to find silver linings in the face of adversity were truly remarkable.
Sofia's passion for learning and her insatiable curiosity led her on a lifelong journey of discovery. She was an avid reader and a constant seeker of knowledge, always eager to explore new ideas and perspectives. Sofia's intellectual curiosity was matched only by her deep empathy and compassion for others. She dedicated her life to making a positive impact on the world, tirelessly advocating for the underprivileged and marginalized.
In addition to her commitment to serving others, Sofia was a devoted volunteer at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh. Through her selfless actions, Sofia demonstrated her unwavering support and dedication to fostering understanding, harmony, and unity within the community. Her volunteer work at the center touched the lives of countless individuals and served as a testament to her inclusive spirit.
Beyond her contributions to society, Sofia was a cherished friend, and mother. She is survived by her loving sons, Kirill and Ismoil, who were her pride and joy. Sofia's nurturing nature and unwavering support will forever resonate in the hearts of her sons, who will carry her legacy forward with love and pride.
Sofia's love knew no bounds, and she always made time for those she held dear. Her warmth and compassion created a haven of love and acceptance for her loved ones, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
