Words of Wisdom
Reflecting on the past week, I delivered a khutbah that delved into the significance of simple actions with great rewards. The ayah and Hadith serve as a powerful reminder that even with our humblest intentions, in sha Allah, we can reap abundant rewards. It's humbling to think that a single good deed can save someone from the hellfire. This underscores the importance of seizing the opportunities Allah has bestowed upon us. Hadeeth of the Day
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Messenger of Allah () said: "Allah, Blessed and Most High, has said - and His saying is the Truth: 'When My slave considers doing something good then write it as one good for him. If he acts upon it then write ten of the same for him. And when he considers doing something evil, then do not write it. If he acts upon it, then write it. If he leaves it" - and perhaps he said: "if he does not act upon it, then write a good reward for him.'" Then he [the Prophet ()] recited: Whoever comes with a good, then he shall have ten the like thereof (6:160). Al-Tirmidhi

MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD
As-Salamu Alaykum Dear ICN Community Important Health Announcement!
We pray this message finds you and your families healthy and happy. Ameen!
Please keep all ICN families, and especially our brothers, sisters, and children in Gaza, and other less fortunate Muslim countries in your prayers, Insha'Allah.
As you may know, last weekend there was an incident that happened at the ICN Ogden Gym during the ICN Sports Committee sponsored Badminton Tournament. One of our brothers that was taking part in the tournament collapsed due to cardiac arrest. He was eventually taken to the emergency room at Edward's Hospital in critical condition. Alhumdulillah, with the help of the other participants at the badminton tournament, all the prayers of our community members, and the blessings of Allah, we are happy to report that the brother is on the road to recovery, In sha Allah. Please continue to keep our brother and his family in your prayers.
This message however is to remind everyone and reemphasize the importance of calling 911 immediately in such situations to minimize the damage and the risk of fatality. Please remember to call 911 first and foremost before calling anyone else, including any community doctors, friends, or family members. Secondly, if you are properly trained, immediately initiate CPR, and continue until the patient recovers or the paramedics arrive.
In sha Allah, the ICN SHIFA Clinic will soon be arranging a training class for the community to give basic training of Basic Life Support (BLS) and the proper use of an Automated Electric Defibrillator (AED) in such situations. In the interim, whenever there is an athletic activity at any ICN facility or event, please identify persons with proper training that may be able to help anyone in need and identify at least one person that will be in charge to call 911 immediately upon any emergency.
We will provide additional information regarding the upcoming training soon.
The ICN Board, together with Committee Chairs, Leads, and Volunteers, is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the best services and programs for our community. Please keep us in your prayers.
May Allah SWT bestow upon us the wisdom and strength to fulfil our commitment to the community, and may His blessings and mercy envelop all of you. Ameen!

ICN Children Committee brings you 'FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTICS' - 10 session program for students currently in 3rd - 7th Grade to ignite their minds to explore the wonderful world of STEM.
Registration is required and is capped at 8 registrations each at Beginner & Advanced level. The registration fee is $100 for 10 sessions. Registrations will close once the program reaches it's intended capacity.

ICN has recently created the Human Capital Development sub-committee. One of its core mandate is human capital development of ICN's volunteers & staff. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
