Raman is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the decisive authority. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then let them fast an equal number of days after Raman. Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.

Words of Wisdom
We ask Allah to bless us in Shaban and allow us to reach Ramadan. Allah described Ramadan as the month in which the Quran was revealed. The Messenger of Allah used to increase his recitation during Ramadan. We should all plan how to increase our relationship with Allah through the Quran during Ramadan. Extra efforts should be made to not only read more, but also to understand and implement the beautiful teachings. We ask Allah to allow fasting and the Quran to be means of goodness in this dunya and the aakhirah. Ameen
Hadeeth of the Day
Ibn `Abbas is reported to have said that Allah's Messenger was the most generous of all people, and he used to reach the peak of generosity in the month of Ramadan when Jibreel (Angel Gabriel) met him. Jibreel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to rehearse the Qur'an with him. The Prophet was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind in readiness and in haste to do charitable deeds (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah () said:
When the first night of Ramadan comes, the satans and mischievous jinns are chained up, and the gates of the Fire are closed, and none of its gates are opened. The gates of Paradise are opened, and none of its gates are closed. And a caller cries out: 'O seeker of good, proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.' And Allah has necks (people) whom He frees (from the Fire), and that happens every day. - Ibn Majah
Message from Shakyh Rizwan:
Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is a great blessing and opportunity to come closer to Allah and closer to each other. I encourage myself and everyone to focus their attention on prayer, fasting, recitation of the Quran, and sadaqah. While doing all this, the question and focus should be whether Allah will accept this from me. If we are sincere, follow the Sunnah, and do things in ways that are pleasing to Allah, we should have the best hope and expectations from Allah. I pray to Allah he makes us among those that are freed from the fire of hell and entered into jannatul Firdaws during Ramadan. Ameen.

Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih al-Muslim are essential books for Muslims after the Quran. They help us understand our religion better, live a good life, and follow Islamic teachingsfaithfully.
Alhamdulillah, Tahfeedh-ul Qur'an program will be continuing with an Evening Program, for ages 6+ in sha ALLAH, from Tuesday, Sep 5, 2023 and will run through May 23, 2024.
Classes will be held at ICN Ogden masjid between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday (boys & girls classes & days are separate).

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
