Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace is until the emergence of dawn.
Words of Wisdom
Alhumdulilah, we are now in the last ten nights of Ramadan. Here are some of the benefits of this great night
1. Allah sent down the Quran on this night to guide humanity to what is best for their dunya and aakhirah.
2. It's better than 83 years, many of us will not even live until that age, but if we take advantage of this opportunity, we record years worth of ibaadah, the days of which are spent in fasting and the nights spent in praying
3. Angels descending on the night is a sign of Allah's Mercy, Love, and Forgiveness
4. There is peace on that night because Allah is freeing many people from the fire of Allah,
May Allah make us amongst those freed from the fire of hell.
We pray to Allah that He makes us among those that benefit from these nights. Ameen
Hadeeth of the Day
'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
The Messenger of Allah () used to seclude himself (in the mosque) during the last ten nights of Ramadan. He would say, "Search for Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree) in the last ten nights of Ramadan."

MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD
Dear ICN Community,
As-Salamu Alaykum! We pray that you are having an excellent Ramadan 2024. Please keep all ICN families, and especially our brothers, sisters, and children in Gaza, and other less fortunate Muslim countries in your prayers, Insha'Allah.
As we approach the midpoint of the month of Ramadan, please make sure you're taking advantage of the many events happening at our Masjids. Our ICN website is the best place to start looking at the various events, dates, and times.

As you know we also have many fundraising opportunities this month. We will be having outside organizations come to ICN to raise funds and we will have multiple opportunities to donate to specific ICN needs. Our 248 Masjid project is going full swing, and we need your donations to avoid delays and complete the project this summer, Insha'Allah. Please donate generously, and even volunteer to help our fundraising team with the fundraising events.
It may be a little premature to start thinking about Eid, but we wanted to give you an update regarding our ongoing search for an Eid prayers venue. For the past 2-3 months, we've been in touch with many different venues for Eid prayers. As you know, Eid day is a work and school day and with that in mind, we have not been able to secure any off-site Eid prayer space at this time. Our search continues! If you know of any potential venues with appropriate indoor space AND plenty of parking, please let us know at your earliest convenience. As we have done in the past, if we are not able to find an off-site venue, we will have Eid prayers at our Ogden, 75th and Olesen masjids, Insha'Allah. More details to follow as they become available.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our Town Hall Meeting on March 7th. As we continue to improve communications within the community, we ask that if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to any of our ICN Board of Directors at any time, ask to add an agenda item to an upcoming board meeting, or just attend one or more of our board meetings. We look forward to your input and board meeting attendance.
Project 248 Update: Our 248 Masjid project construction is in full swing. With continued good weather, construction is moving even faster. Our contractors are working on the interior of our building and the building is totally enclosed and heated. We look forward to celebrating the grand opening of our new masjid with you this summer, Insha'Allah. Please continue to donate generously to ensure we can complete the project on time, without any construction delays due to lack of finances. Insha'Allah, we will be able to do our Eid prayers at our new masjid next year.
The ICN Board, together with Committee Chairs, Leads, and Volunteers, is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the best services and programs for our community. Please keep us in your prayers.
May Allah SWT bestow upon us the wisdom and strength to fulfil our commitment to the community, and may His blessings and mercy envelop all of you. Ameen!

Chicagoland Youth Iftar
As we enter these last 10 blessed days of Ramadan, join us for a night filled with reflections by our Shuyookh as we discuss how we can maximize our Ibada. We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with local Masajid youth groups (ICN Youth, Mecca MVMT, IF Youth, Mosque Foundation Youth, MABY, MYPC, and Palos Islamic Center) and we look forward to seeing you all there!

When the first night of Ramadan comes, the satans and mischievous jinns are chained up, and the gates of the Fire are closed, and none of its gates are opened. The gates of Paradise are opened, and none of its gates are closed. And a caller cries out: 'O seeker of good, proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.' And Allah has necks (people) whom He frees (from the Fire), and that happens every day. - Ibn Majah
Message from Shakyh Rizwan:
Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is a great blessing and opportunity to come closer to Allah and closer to each other. I encourage myself and everyone to focus their attention on prayer, fasting, recitation of the Quran, and sadaqah. While doing all this, the question and focus should be whether Allah will accept this from me. If we are sincere, follow the Sunnah, and do things in ways that are pleasing to Allah, we should have the best hope and expectations from Allah. I pray to Allah he makes us among those that are freed from the fire of hell and entered into jannatul Firdaws during Ramadan. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, Tahfeedh-ul Qur'an program will be continuing with an Evening Program, for ages 6+ in sha ALLAH, from Tuesday, Sep 5, 2023 and will run through May 23, 2024.
Classes will be held at ICN Ogden masjid between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday (boys & girls classes & days are separate).

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
