We are all facing a huge challenge with what's happening in Gaza.We ask Allah to provide them with relief, justice and support.The reality of this world is that we will face challenges, difficulties, and hardship. Our faith and trust in Allah are what helps us navigate through challenging times. We know that if we are patient and put our trust in Allah, whatever happens, will be better for us, either in this world or in the hereafter. The ayah and hadith give comfort and solace to Allah being always with us and will help us.

Narrated Umm Salamah:
The Messenger of Allah () as saying: When one of you is afflicted with a calamity, he should say: "We belong to Allah, and to Him, we do return." O Allah, I expect reward from Thee from this affliction, so give me reward for it, and give me a better compensation.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the ICN Community
I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to the new year and let you know that your new ICN Board of Directors will be having their first Board Meeting this Saturday, January 6th. Alhamdulillah, we have a full agenda spanning over 3 hours beginning after Fajr prayers at the 75th Street masjid.
Alhamdulillah, we have had a smooth transition from our 2023 Board of Directors to the new 2024 Board of Directors.I'd like to, once again, thank all the 2023 Board Members for their hard work and dedication to ICN. May Allah bless you all Ameen!
I'd like to start by introducing you to the new Officers of ICN.

Among the many things we will be discussing in our first board meeting includes assignments of new Board Liaisons and Committee Chairs for each of our Main Committees. As you may know, the Main Committees include the following:

- Finance
- Public Relations & Outreach
- Governance & Organizational Development
- Community Services
- Events & Dinners
- Facilities Management
- Operations
Our selection process for each of the positions includes many parameters, including qualifications, experience, passion, community service history, past performance, and many others.We will provide a final list of all Board Liaisons and Committee Chairs next week.
Though we have not finalized dates yet, we are also planning on conducting some Town Hall meetings soon (January/February). This will provide community members an opportunity to meet their ICN Board of Directors, the Board can communicate the major plans and initiatives for this coming year, and the community will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide suggestions and feedback.

Alhumdolillah, in keeping with our mission and vision, ICN SHIFA Clinic Team is happy to announce the addition of yet another free service to our clinic, SHIFA OPTOMETRY. Alhamdulillah, Tahfeedh-ul Qur'an program will be continuing with an Evening Program, for ages 6+ in sha ALLAH, from Tuesday, Sep 5, 2023 and will run through May 23, 2024.
Classes will be held at ICN Ogden masjid between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday (boys & girls classes & days are separate).

ICN has recently created the Human Capital Development sub-committee. One of its core mandate is human capital development of ICN's volunteers & staff. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
