Words of Wisdom
One of the biggest tricks of Shaytan is that he causes us to forget our mortality. People sometimes say and do things and ignore that they will have to stand in front of Allah, who will hold them accountable for their actions. Other times, people become so engrossed in this world's delights and neglect and abandon their religious principles and values. The way that we avoid both problems is to remember death frequently and consistently ask Allah to cause us to die in a state of Iman.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah () said, "Remember more often the destroyer of pleasures - death."

As-Salamu Alaykum! I am delighted to share with you the recent developments over the past couple weeks within the ICN Board and Committees.
We have wasted no time in addressing the pressing needs of our community and have set multiple top priorities for us as we move forward in early 2024. One of our main goals is to increase communications between the Community and our Board. Another goal is to complete some ongoing major projects and prepare for upcoming events in 2024 as follows:
- ICN Community Town Hall Meeting: In our pursuit of increased communications, we are pleased to announce the date of our first 2024 ICN Community Town Hall Meeting. Please mark your calendars for February 23, 2024. Our first Town Hall meeting will be at our Ogden Masjid, and we plan on having our second Town Hall meeting at our 75th Street Masjid, Insha'Allah. We look forward to discussing our plans for 2024 and hearing from our community members. More information to follow.
- **ICN Noor Academy Town Hall Meeting:**We are in the process of scheduling a Town Hall meeting for the Parents, Teachers, Students, and community members to introduce them to the new ICN Board, new Education Committee Board Liaison, new Education Committee Chairperson, new Education Committee Members, and staff. We plan on having the Town Hall meeting in February 2024. More information to follow.
- ICN Noor Academy Relocation: Progress continues on the relocation of ICN Noor Academy to its new Bond Street location. The owner had announced a completion date of mid-January, but delays associated with construction and the City of Naperville permits and inspections have delayed the completion. We currently expect to be complete by late February, Insha'Allah. Once the actual date is confirmed, we will announce the move-in date and grand opening ceremony for the new school.
- Project 248 Update: As you know, our 248 Masjid project construction is in full swing, even during the brutal winter conditions. Our contractors are working on the interior of our building, and we expect to have all the exterior windows and doors installed and be fully enclosed and heated by the end of January. We look forward to celebrating the grand opening of our new masjid with you this summer, Insha'Allah. Please continue to donate generously to ensure we can complete the project on time, without any construction delays due to lack of finances.
- Ramadan Planning: Ramadan is almost here! Preparations for Ramadan activities and events are already underway. We pray that Allah SWT blesses us to reach Ramadan and accept our sincere efforts. Soon our Events and Dinners Committee will start finalizing all these activities and announce them to the community.
The ICN Board, together with Committee Chairs, Leads, and Volunteers, is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the best services and programs for our community. We invite you to consider joining us as volunteers, where you can actively contribute to bringing about meaningful change within our community.
Insha'Allah, we look forward to meeting with you soon to provide a detailed overview of our plans and aspirations for ICN. May Allah SWT bestow upon us the wisdom and strength to fulfil our commitment to the community, and may His blessings and mercy envelop all of you. Ameen!

Alhumdolillah, in keeping with our mission and vision, ICN SHIFA Clinic Team is happy to announce the addition of yet another free service to our clinic, SHIFA OPTOMETRY. Alhamdulillah, Tahfeedh-ul Qur'an program will be continuing with an Evening Program, for ages 6+ in sha ALLAH, from Tuesday, Sep 5, 2023 and will run through May 23, 2024.
Classes will be held at ICN Ogden masjid between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday (boys & girls classes & days are separate).

ICN has recently created the Human Capital Development sub-committee. One of its core mandate is human capital development of ICN's volunteers & staff. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
