Do you not see that Allah gently drives the clouds, then joins them together, piling them up into masses, from which you see raindrops come forth? And He sends down from the sky mountains of clouds loaded with hail, pouring it on whoever He wills and averting it from whoever He wills. The flash of the clouds' lightning nearly takes away eyesight.
Words of Wisdom
There is an expected snowstorm that will take place Friday and Saturday. We ask Allah to keep everyone safe. When these events happen, it is important we remember that Allah is in charge of everything, and nothing can happen without Allah's permission. These are moments to acknowledge Allah's power and greatness and opportunities to turn back to him in repentance. I know some people are worried about Jummah, and I want to clarify that if it is not safe to attend, you are not obligated to attend, but please pray Zuhr at your house. This is based on the hadith of the Messenger instructing the muadhin to tell people to pray at home on a night that was cold, rainy, and potentially unsafe. May Allah keep everyone safe and accept from us all.

Ibn 'Umar announced Adhan for prayer on a cold, windy night. Then added:
Pray in your dwellings; and then said: When it was a cold, rainy night, the Messenger of Allah () used to command the Mu'adhdhin to say" Pray in your dwellings." (Muslim)

I hope this message finds you well and in high spirits.
I am delighted to share the news that our first Board meeting of 2024 took place last Saturday. I was very pleased to see the new Board Members and they were very excited to start serving the community.
As I mentioned last week, one of the main tasks for our first Board meeting was to assign new Board Liaisons and Committee Chairs for each of our Main Committees. Our selection process for each of the positions included parameters such as qualifications, experience, passion, community service history, past performance, and many others. Additionally, the Board is focusing its efforts on our strategic objectives for 2024, with a particular emphasis on the financial aspects and the completion of our new Masjid Al Nur (248) and the relocation of our ICN Noor Academy to Bond Street. You will see in the near future that the temporary trailer will be removed from Ogden, and we will be providing a detailed moving plan for ICN Noor Academy as soon as we have a final move in date from the contractor and City of Naperville.
The ICN Board, along with all Committee Chairs, Leads, and Volunteers, are putting in tremendous efforts to continue to provide the best services and programs for our community. We strongly encourage you to please sign up as volunteers and join us in making a positive impact on our community. Together, we can create meaningful change, contribute, and work hand in hand to achieve our shared goals.
InshaAllah, I will have the opportunity to meet with you soon to provide a detailed overview of our plans and aspirations for ICN. May Allah SWT grant us the wisdom and strength to fulfil our commitment to the community and shower His blessings and mercy upon all of you. Ameen!

Alhumdolillah, in keeping with our mission and vision, ICN SHIFA Clinic Team is happy to announce the addition of yet another free service to our clinic, SHIFA OPTOMETRY. Alhamdulillah, Tahfeedh-ul Qur'an program will be continuing with an Evening Program, for ages 6+ in sha ALLAH, from Tuesday, Sep 5, 2023 and will run through May 23, 2024.
Classes will be held at ICN Ogden masjid between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday (boys & girls classes & days are separate).

ICN has recently created the Human Capital Development sub-committee. One of its core mandate is human capital development of ICN's volunteers & staff. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
