Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace is until the emergence of dawn.
Words of Wisdom
Alhumdulilah, we have only a few nights remaining of Ramadan. We need to work on and capitalize on the immense rewards and benefits of these nights. Here are some of the benefits of this great night
1. Allah sent down the Quran on this night to guide humanity to what is best for their dunya and aakhirah.
2. It's better than 83 years, many of us will not even live until that age, but if we take advantage of this opportunity, we record years worth of ibaadah, the days of which are spent in fasting and the nights spent in praying
3. Angels descending on the night is a sign of Allah's Mercy, Love, and Forgiveness
4. There is peace on that night because Allah is freeing many people from the fire of Allah,
May Allah make us amongst those freed from the fire of hell.
We pray to Allah that He makes us among those that benefit from these nights. Ameen
Hadeeth of the Day
'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
The Messenger of Allah () used to seclude himself (in the mosque) during the last ten nights of Ramadan. He would say, "Search for Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree) in the last ten nights of Ramadan."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

JUMU'AH TIME CHANGE EFFECTIVE MARCH 15, 2024
Assalamualaikum all, please note that the new time of 2:20 PM for the 2nd Jamat at ICN Ogden has been extended now until further notice due to daylight savings. This is in order to reduce the traffic congestion. If you are coming to the 2nd Jamat, please plan to come only after 2 PM. Thank you for your cooperation.
MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD
Dear ICN Community,
As-Salamu Alaykum! We pray that you are taking advantage of the final 10 days of Ramadan 2024. Please keep all ICN families, and especially our brothers, sisters, and children in Gaza, and other less fortunate Muslim countries in your prayers, Insha'Allah.
Eid is just around the corner, and we hope you get a chance to attend one of the ICN Eid prayers and celebrate Eid with your family and friends. We have finalized the Eid prayer locations and times and will be sharing them with the community shortly.
Fundraising:
A huge THANK YOU to everyone that has donated this year. The ICN community has always been very generous with their donations to organizations outside of ICN and for ICN needs. This year, we have had multiple ICN fundraisers during Ramadan for Operations, Zakat, 75th Masjid, 248 Masjid and other needs, and our community has, once again, stepped up and donated to meet our goals and needs. As we approach the end of Ramadan, we ask you to continue to be generous and reap the rewards of donating during Ramadan and multiplying your rewards 700 times, Insha'Allah. This Sunday, we will have one final fundraising for our 248 Masjid project we continue to need your support to complete that project without delays due to lack of funds. We have approximately 5 months of construction remaining, but we will be running out of funds in approximately 2 months. We are so close! Please help us get the final 3 months of construction funded by your generous donations. We are confident, with everyone doing their part, little or large, we will meet the needs of the project, Insha'Allah.
Safety:
Keeping our kids safe is one of our highest priorities. We want the kids to come to the ICN masjids and have fun and pray. We want them to enjoy their time at the masjid. Having said that, we want them to be safe. As we approach the end of Ramadan and moving forward, please make sure you either keep your kids with you while at the masjid or give the kids strict guidelines regarding where they can go and cannot go inside and outside the masjid.
As you know, we have limited space in the masjid to play while the Gym is being used for prayers. While the kids have fun in the classrooms, hallways, or other areas, please ask them to keep as quite as possible so they don't disturb others that are doing their prayers.
If the kids must go outside, it is best for them to stay on ICN property. A few days ago, some kids were off ICN property, and the Naperville Police Department was called by our neighbors. Needless to say, that puts the kid's safety at risk and puts the ICN reputation at risk. Kids must stay on ICN property while attending any events at ICN.
Security:
As you may have noticed, our security volunteers have recently changed how they present themselves while providing security at our masjid. We have been given advice from our friends at the Naperville Police Department (NPD) to change the way we are doing things to be in compliance with Concealed Carry laws and other recommendations. For over 20 years, the NPD has been a friend of ICN and has helped us many times when we needed additional patrols, site inspections, recommendations, training, help with potential threats, and any other needs we may have.
The NPD recently reviewed our security operations and has recommended we change the way we dress and appear to the public. These recommended changes will help enhance our security operations and keep our community members and our security staff safer.
Here are some of their recommendations, which we have enforced as of last week:
- All firearms are to be concealed at all times inside and outside of the masjid.
- No flashing lights or sirens.
- No SECURITY identification of security volunteers. Our jackets and other garments should not identify us as SECURITY.
- Overall, our security services should be low key.
- Eliminate sharing of pictures or videos of ICN security volunteers on social media.
The ICN Board, together with Committee Chairs, Leads, and Volunteers, is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing the best services and programs for our community. Please keep us in your prayers.
May Allah SWT bestow upon us the wisdom and strength to fulfil our commitment to the community, and may His blessings and mercy envelop all of you. Ameen!
Jazakum Allah Khair,
Anees Rahman

Alhamdulillah, we as Muslims, have some beautiful traditions associated with eclipses, like congregational prayer, but do not believe in any associated superstitions or wordly events.
When Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) young son passed away, an eclipse occurred, and some people tried to claim there was a connection. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) strongly rejected that notion and said the sun and the moon are two signs of God. They do not eclipse because of someone's life or death.
When an eclipse happens, we are taught to glorify and supplicate to God, observe a special prayer as a community, and give charity to the needy. ICN follows the example of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and has held many of these eclipse prayers called salaatul kusoof. The prayer is longer, unique in style and very special. Given the sadness and direct impacts on our community from the genocide in Gaza and the blessed time of Ramadan overlapping with the eclipse, we expect a huge crowd to attend the prayer while fasting on April 8th. Please join us inshallah
The Children's Committee wants to celebrate your first fast! Parents, please fill out the form so your child receives a certificate and small surprise. A follow up email will be sent prior to Eid.

Assalamualaikum ICN Community,
Save the "dates" for Ramadan! Mark these days on your calendar.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah () said:
When the first night of Ramadan comes, the satans and mischievous jinns are chained up, and the gates of the Fire are closed, and none of its gates are opened. The gates of Paradise are opened, and none of its gates are closed. And a caller cries out: 'O seeker of good, proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.' And Allah has necks (people) whom He frees (from the Fire), and that happens every day. - Ibn Majah
Message from Shakyh Rizwan:
Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is a great blessing and opportunity to come closer to Allah and closer to each other. I encourage myself and everyone to focus their attention on prayer, fasting, recitation of the Quran, and sadaqah. While doing all this, the question and focus should be whether Allah will accept this from me. If we are sincere, follow the Sunnah, and do things in ways that are pleasing to Allah, we should have the best hope and expectations from Allah. I pray to Allah he makes us among those that are freed from the fire of hell and entered into jannatul Firdaws during Ramadan. Ameen.
