Alhamdulillah, ICN has been supporting needy families in the Chicagoland area for many years with rental assistance, food and basic needs, medications, job training, and offering cars through the Car Donation Program..

This year there has been a drastic increase in zakah applications due to inflation, higher housing costs, reduced government benefits, and an influx of refugees who have recently moved into the area and are in dire need of financial support. This is in addition to the many other families ICN's Zakah Committee supports on a monthly basis.

The ICN Zakah Committee's primary goal is to support Chicagoland needy families with their immediate financial needs, and then help transition them into financial independence.

In order to support the increased demand for zakah support, ICN is in urgent need of additional zakah funds.

The sunnah of zakah distribution stipulates that after one's family, one's local community has first right and priority to their zakah.

Please consider donating your zakah to ICN in accordance with the sunnah to support your local brothers, sisters, and families in need. If you donate prior to the end of the year you can take advantage of year end tax benefits.

Please note that ICN's zakah committee operates with no administrative overhead. 100% of your zakah donations go into the hands of the needy.

You can donate your zakah through one of the following means:

• Online: Pick "Zakat" from the dropdown menu on https://islamiccenterofnaperville.org/donate/
• Zelle to: [email protected] and mention "Zakah' in the memo
• Check: Make check payable to "Islamic Center of Naperville" with "Zakah" in the memo and mail to ICN, 2844 W. Ogden Ave. Naperville, IL 60540 or drop it off in the safe at any ICN location in the "Zakah" section
• Cash: Drop off in the safe at any ICN location in the "Zakah" section

ICN is also in need of good running cars to help the needy community with transportation so they can find jobs and be able commute to work. If you have a good running car you would like to donate to help them, please send a message to [email protected].
