Pay your Zakat al Fitr
Salaam Alaykum dear community members,
Zakat ul Fitr is an obligation for every Muslim who has more than their bare basic necessities for the Day of Eid. The Islamic Center of Morgantown accepts Zakat ul Fitr as cash and pays it to those Muslims who are in need. The donation box is located in the main musallah area of the masjid and is clearly labeled "Zakat ul Fitr".
The recommended amount of Zakat ul Fitr this year for Morgantown, West Virginia, and the surrounding areas, is $10, factoring in the average of different staple foods. The actual amount is closer to $8. We recommend paying at least $10 for Zakat ul Ftir for this year. Please try to pay your Zakat ul Fitr as soon as possible and avoid waiting for the day of Eid to ensure those who need it, receive it before Eid!
Please note that the ICM will accept your Zakat ul Fitr only until end of day Sunday, 4/7/2024.
