What is Takbeer-e-Tashreeq?

  • Takbeer-e-Tashreeq is the recitation of: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La illaha il Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Walilahil Hamd after every Fardh Salaah commencing from the Fajr of the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah until after the Asr of the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah.

 The words of the Takbeeraat of Tashreeq are as follows:

Arabic:

Transliteration:
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La illaha il Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Walilahil Hamd.

Translation:
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah, Allah is the greatest and Allah is the greatest, and all praises are for Allah only.

What is the position of Takbeer-e-Tashreeq?

  • Takbeer-e-Tashreeq is waajib.

When should the Takbeer-e-Tashreeq be recited?

  • It should be recited immediately after every Fardh salaah (not after Witr or Nafl), whether the salaah was performed individually or in congregation (Jamaat). They will say it aloud.

Is Takbir Obligatory?

  • It is Waajib on both men and woman whether they are villagers or travelers. However, men should recite it audibly and women should recite it softly.
