Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh!

Dear Respected ICLI Community Members,

CSMH Summer Program: Overview (v. 2.0: 5/20/24)
The Cohen Strong Mental Health Summer Program (CSMH-SP) is a two-week intensive educational and skills-based training program for students on youth mental health. Each session will focus on a different aspect of youth mental health and related topics. The sessions and materials are intended to support students roles as youth mental health ambassadors within their communities and provide exposure to careers in the mental health field. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays students will participate in morning and afternoon synchronous virtual education sessions, 90-120 minutes in length, led by program staff and supported by guest speakers. Students will receive assignments related to the material to reinforce content and provide practice in the skills presented. In addition, all students will be trained and certified in teen Mental Health First Aid, with six sessions of live instruction supplemented by self-paced computer-based training. Students, in partnership with their program mentors, will also develop a community-based project on youth mental health, to be implemented with their cohort at their site. The projects will be presented at TBD event.
