Upcoming Programs at ICLT

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Sheik Attia is kicking off the year with several programs. These include Tafseer, Halaqah, Tarbiyah classes for high schoolers (Wahy Center), Youth Night and Sisters Quran classes for now.
Starting Thursday January 18th, he will conduct Quran Tafseer sessions - Trials and Realities - A Study of Surah Al -Kahf. The series will be weekly on Thursday nights after Isha prayers concluding just before Ramadan. All are welcome to join with your own questions about this Surah.
On Friday January 19th, we will have our monthly Halaqah with Community Potluck. InshaAllah, we will try to conduct these consistently every month on the third Friday of every month. This month, Sheikh Attia will give a talk on Al-Isra Wal-Miraj - The Night Journey. Please join us with your favorite dish serving about 8 people.
Tarbiyah courses with Wahy Center for high schoolers will resume Sunday Jan 21st, at ICLT. This is a great opportunity for our youth to deepen their understanding of Islam and its teaching and to nurture a strong Islamic identity and a balanced personality. In this semester, students will study two courses:
Bidayat Al-Hidayah
In this course, students study Imam al-Ghazalis Bidayah al-Hidayah, a motivational manual detailing the fundamentals of how to practically develop taqw and actualize ones knowledge through practice.
The Story of Revelation
The majority of Muslims read and memorize the Quran on a daily basis. However, many are not familiar with the historical context of the Quran and its revelation (Wahy). This course introduces students to the subject of Ulum al-Quran (sciences of the Quran), covering the history and the process of revelation, compilation of the Quran, the miraculous nature (Ijaz) of the Quran, Makki and Madani revelations, and the various styles of the ayat (Quranic verses). Students will also learn the etiquettes of recitation and tips on how to connect with the Quran.

Sisters Quran sessions will start on second Saturday of Feb 10th and will be conducted monthly on the second Saturday too, InshaAllah.
