Salam ICOI Community,
As we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, we are excited to share an initiative that aims to enhance our communal experience and ensure the smooth facilitation of our Ramadan gatherings. This year, we are introducing a bidding process for 15 dedicated parking spots at ICOI, a decision made with careful consideration and the well-being of our community in mind. These spaces will be dedicated for the entire duration of Ramadan - including Jummah and Taraweeh.
We understand that parking has been a challenge during Ramadan (and outside of Ramadan), and our goal is to provide a solution that benefits everyone. The funds raised from the bidding will be directly invested in funding our Ramadan parking services, including hiring security personnel, providing shuttle buses, employing drivers, and renting additional parking spaces from the Chinese center. These efforts are aimed at ensuring a safe, organized, and convenient parking experience for the community.
By participating in the bidding, you are not only securing a convenient parking spot for yourself but also contributing to the collective good of our community. Your support will help us cover the significant costs associated with these services, making our Ramadan parking experience more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
We understand that the concept of bidding for parking spots may raise concerns about fairness and privilege. Please know that our intention is not to create a hierarchy but to find a practical solution to our parking challenges while fostering a sense of collective responsibility and contribution. Every dollar raised will be reinvested into our parking services, ensuring that we all benefit from a well-organized and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan.
Its worth noting that other masjid with tight parking, such as King Fahad Masjid in Los Angeles, have resorted to similar practices (pay for parking) to manage their parking needs during high-demand times.
We invite you to participate in this initiative with an open heart and a spirit of generosity. Together, we can make this Ramadan a truly special and harmonious time for our mosque community.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Salam,
P.S. We are open to feedback and suggestions on how to make this initiative as inclusive and beneficial as possible. Please feel free to reach out to us with your thoughts.
