Dear ICOI Community Members,
We want to inform you about a series of burglaries that have been happening in our area. While these incidents do not appear to be specifically targeting Muslims, we have had reports of a couple of our community members returning from Jumuah or Salatul-Ishaa to find their homes broken into.
In light of these events, we urge everyone to remain vigilant and take extra precautions to secure their homes, especially when leaving for prayers or other activities.
Here are some steps you can take to enhance your home security:
1. Lock all doors and windows: Ensure all entry points to your home are securely locked before leaving.
2. Use security systems: If you have a security system, make sure it is activated when you are not at home.
3. Install cameras: Consider installing security cameras around your property.
4. Be cautious with deliveries: Be aware of strangers posing as delivery personnel. Verify their identity before opening the door.
5. Stay informed: Keep an eye on neighborhood alerts and communicate with your neighbors about any suspicious activities.
