It's with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Br. Alan E Holmes on February 22, 2024
He is survived by his Wife Joan Holmes, his daughter Brandi Holmes, his son-in-law Yasser Elkilani, his son Scott Holmes, his daughters-in-law Cynthia Holmes, his Grandchildren Saif Elkilani, Laila Elkilani, Jenna Elkilani, Yousef Elkilani, and Logan Holmes.
Alan asked many questions about Islam after his daughter converted to Islam in 2000, he had many conversations with his grandchildren and their friends about Islam. Upon returning home from the hospital under Hospice care, he repeated the shahada after his granddaughter Jenna Elkilani. We pray Allah accepts his profession of faith
Please make Dua for Br. Alan's soul.
May Allah SWT shower this beautiful soul with His mercy and love.
May his soul rest in peace and enter the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus.
May Allah give sabr to the bereaved family! Ameen!
اَللّٰھُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَیِّنَا وَ مَیِّتِنَا وَ صَغِیْرِنَا وَ کَبِیْرِنَا وَ
ذَکَرِنَا وَ اُنْثَانَا وَ شَاھِدِنَا وَ غَائِبِنَا، اَللّٰھُمَّ مَنْ اَحْیَیْتَهُ مِنَّا فَاَحْیِهِ عَلَی الْاِیْمَانِ وَ مَنْ تَوَفَّیْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَی الْاِسْلَامِ، اَللّٰھُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا اَجْرَهُ وَ لَا تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ۔
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our young and our old, our menfolk and our womenfolk, those who are present and those who are absent. O Allah, whomever you give life from among us give him life in Faith, and whomever you take away from us take him away in Islām. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward (for supplicating for the deceased) and do not lead us astray after him.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Whosoever attends the funeral of a Muslim believing and hoping for the reward from Allah and remains with it until the prayer is offered over it and the burial is completed, he will return with a reward of two Qirat; each Qirat is equivalent to Mount Uhud; and whosoever offers his prayer over it and returns before its burial, he will come back with one Qirat.'' Al-Bukhari.
