Need Everyone's Help!
Assalam’Alaikum Dear ICGC Families.
After discussions and reassessment with the security team, In Sha Allah, we have decided that the tent will resume Friday evening.
We thank you for your patience while we were investigating the incident to ensure that there is no security risk to the community.
We have completed our investigation and are in contact with parents whose children were involved.
For transparency purposes, here is a summary of what happened hoping to dispel the rumors community members have been hearing about this incident.
A group of youth within the age range of 15 were chasing one another to the back of the Community Center and INTAC. They ran around the back to the Mirror Hall. One kid had a stick in his hand. Another kid took the stick from him and stuck under his t-shirt and said "I have a gun." to the rest of the kids sticking it up under his t-shirt. However, there was no gun present. The kid did the same thing in an area close to the tent and ran off when security and the police were approaching. He was caught by the police and interrogated then released as no gun was found on him. It was a tasteless joke that, unfortunately, required both the police and the ICGC security team to investigate for any potential risk to the community. And in doing, we had to pause the tent for a few night to allow us to complete the investigation and regroup.
Alahmdulillah, there was no security threat found.
As a result of this incident, there will be additional volunteers present as well as increased patrols of the campus.
Please note that kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you have to leave the campus, please make sure you do not leave them behind. This is both for their own safety and others'.
In Shaa Allah, we already are equipped with video surveillance.

The issue was never with the tent itself but rather with the misbehavior of a few individuals around the campus.

Tariq Khan, family, and his team have been serving the community for years- along with Br. Amir ( Nawab Resturant) and family. May Allah Subhanahu Wata’la bless them immensely! Ameen.

Parents must take full responsibility for their children, and we ask everyone to be respectful toward the volunteers as they try to provide safety and security for us.
Please take a minute to thank them for their tireless efforts, commitment, and sacrifice.
InShaAllah, we look forward to the blessed nights ahead!
May Allah Subhanahu Wata’la Accept and allow us to reach Laylat- Al Qadr Ameen.
Jazaakum Allaahu khairan!
