Message from Imam Muhammed Shoayb:
Asalamualikum,
Ramadan is a blessed month that holds great spiritual significance in the Islamic calendar. As Muslims, it is our duty to make the most of this month and strive to bring the essence of Ramadan into our daily lives — both within and outside the Musjid. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran (2:183), “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.”
At ICCV, we are proud to offer a range of youth-related events, community iftar sessions, Tafseer covering the readings of Taraweeh, Itikaf and Qiyam sessions, among other programs. It is essential that we participate in these programs and make the most of this blessed month. As good citizens, we should also take the initiative to help with the iftar program — including its cleanup and ensure that we do not disturb our neighbors by limiting noise.
We should also make an effort to explore and participate in the various Ramadan activities organized by your local Islamic centers, which will enable you to experience the true essence of Ramadan, foster a sense of community and create a more inclusive and spiritually fulfilling environment. It is worth remembering that Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink during the day, it is also a time to reconnect with Allah (SWT), seek forgiveness and spread love and compassion to those around us. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his/her reward from Allah, (such a person} will have his/her past sins forgiven.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
I wish you and your family a spiritually uplifting and accepted Ramadan. May Allah (SWT) bless us all during this blessed month and accept our fasts, prayers, and acts of worship.
Warm Regards,
Muhammed Shoayb
May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting and prayers, protect our community, forgive our sins, accept our good deeds and shower us with His mercy and blessings during this blessed month.
JazakAllah Khair
