Updates From Egypt | Successful Delivery Of Aid To Gaza Alhamdulilllah | $930,000 Raised So Far | Donate Now To Help Us Fill More Trucks
as'salaamu alaykum,
I spent the day today at Penny Appeal's warehouse in Cairo, Egypt helping to fill their trucks going with much-needed humanitarian aid and supplies to our sisters and brothers in Gaza. Alhamdulillah, just as we finished filling up an entire truck and sent it on its way to the border, we got word of another Penny Appeal truck successfully crossing the border, going through inspection, and distributing all of the aid that was packed at the warehouse item for item to those in need in Gaza. Nothing was missing from it, all of it reached those who needed it, and there are so many more who are waiting for assistance. The images below are of us packing the boxes at the warehouse, the truck we packed departing from the warehouse, and the aid from the earlier truck being delivered.
This aid is getting through to the people in Gaza alhamdulillah.
Please continue to give what you can by making a zakat-eligible/tax-deductible contribution today at launchgood.com/AidToGazaNow and sharing the link with others to encourage them to give as well. Let's fill up as many trucks as we can inshallah to assist our sisters and brothers in this time of great need.
More details on what I've learned about the aid delivery process is below.

Some things that I learned concretely while being on the ground here and seeing firsthand:
- Right now there are about 100 trucks a day taking aid into Gaza on average through Egypt. This number should increase soon to 250 trucks a day inshallah with the opening of another delivery point from Israel to Gaza.
- Trucks are lined up at the Egyptian border for varied amounts of time due to what is most urgent being prioritized in terms of entry. The Palestinian Red Crescent conveys what is most needed on the ground and trucks carrying that type of aid move ahead in the line to cross the border first. For example, if there is a need for medicine moreso than other items, then trucks carrying medical aid will go in first, but all of the aid will eventually get in inshallah.
- The various agencies work close together to ensure that there is a diversity of items being procured and distributed. For example, we are prioritizing Food, shelter, medicine, and hygiene products while other orgs prioritize water or supplies for animals, etc.
- All of the aid is getting to the people in Gaza alhamdulillah so please do give as much as you can at launchgood.com/AidToGazaNow and sharing the link with others to encourage them to give as well.

As I mentioned before leaving, I personally helped to pack these trucks with much needed food, medical assistance, emergency shelter, and hygiene products. The process as outlined below is what is taking place. The Red Crescent are part of a contingency of 100 or so trucks that have been given permission to provide daily aid to our sisters and brothers in Gaza right now. The steps below outline how Penny Appeal is working with them to get aid into Gaza through Egypt.
- Step 1: Supplies are procured and delivered into Penny Appeal's warehouse in Cairo where we pack all the boxes that will be delivered.
- Step 2: Packed supplies from the Penny Appeal warehouse go to the Egyptian Red Crescent warehouse where they will undergo an inspection to ensure all supplies that are declared to be delivered are packed and loaded.
- Step 3: Trucks are then sent to an IDF checkpoint next to Rafah crossing, where the supplies will undergo a secondary inspection.
- Step 4: Once the supplies pass the secondary inspection, they are then put into a queue to enter Gaza through Rafah.
- Step 5: Once inside Gaza, Palestinian Red Crescent takes over and then distributes the supplies via our team on the ground in Gaza. Aid is currently being distributed in Khan Younis.
This aid is getting to the people in Gaza alhamdulillah.
I'm asking each of you to give what you can so that we can fill these trucks again and again and provide as much to them as possible. All contributions to this campaign are zakat-eligible and will also be tax-deductible for US and Canadian citizens. The appropriate receipts will be provided through Penny Appeal Canada and Penny Appeal USA respectively based on the address you provide when donating. Please do give what you can - it will go a long way in helping out so many inshallah.
