Amongst the wisdoms of fasting in Islamic law and practice is to remind ourselves of the hunger and thirst of the less fortunate. Join the Islamic Center each Monday and Thursday as we will be serving iftar, coupled with Maghrib prayers, and our community halaqa.
In order to facilitate these iftars for our community, we are looking for sponsors to cover our costs of approximately $500. To sponsor a community iftar, please visit our donation page and select "Islamic Center General Fund."
*NOTE: Since this is a potluck iftar, we are asking attendees to bring a food or drink to share with everyone (if they are able). We are expecting 50 - 100 people.

Would you like to volunteer with ICNYU?
Alhamdulillah, IC Serves has partnered with the Zakat Fund of NYC to serve hot meals on Wednesdays to individuals right outside of the IC. The delicious, halal meals are freshly cooked with love by our friends at Taheni Mediterranean Grill.
Volunteers are needed every Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:30 pm. You must commit to the entire time. Please only sign up for dates you are available. Volunteers will be notified Monday afternoon regarding their confirmation.

Join us this Friday for another blessed Jumu'ah prayer with another uplifting and heartfelt khutbah by Imam Khalid Latif.
Allah has ordained Friday (Jumu'ah) as a blessed day of gathering and reflection for us, the 'ummah of Muhammad , so come and spend this special day with your brothers and sisters here at the IC.
Jumuah is open to everyone, but non-NYU community members must get approval from the Building Access Form.

The Islamic Center will be hosting our weekly Jumu'ah prayer service at 1pm, with a sermon, followed by prayers and a community lunch. We also hope to utilize these gatherings as an opportunity to come together in one voice, in prayers and supplication, but also advocacy via phone banking with our local representatives to call for a ceasefire.

Immediately following our Friday Jumu'ah prayer, we will be sharing a community lunch and engaging in advocacy via phone banking with our local representatives to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Please take a few minutes to join us in our community advocacy for the people of Palestine. The more voices we have, the louder the message will be, and the likelier it will be heard!
NOTE: If you're not able to join us on Friday for our community phone banking, you can always call your representatives on your own, whenever you have a few minutes. Just follow these three simple steps:

Who better to take as role models?! Join us as we grow in our love for and draw incredible lessons from the lives of Khadijah, Um Habiba, Sumaiyah, and so many more (may Allah be pleased with them all).
No prior knowledge needed; open to students and community members of all ages.
These discussion circles are intended to foster a safe space for sisters to share, learn, and grow together as we think about how topics such as mental health, boundaries, hijab, salah, goal setting, and more relate to His attributes. No prior knowledge needed!
