ILC-NYC SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN
The Islamic Learning Center of NYC (ILC-NYC) is hiring! The organization is seeking highly motivated, organized and experienced part-time teachers to join their growing program and implement their grade/age appropriate curriculum focused on Islamic studies, Quran & Arabic**.
The ILC-NYC is a Islamic Sunday school program founded in 2018 that seeks to inspire a consciousness of Allah in the hearts and minds of their Kindergarten-12th grade students. Their mission is to provide a quality education and community experience to help families and students ages 5-17 prepare to be responsible, engaged citizens, guided by a love and understanding of the Qur'an, the Prophet and Islam as a way of life.
The ideal candidate will be a current/former classroom teacher or individual with adequate experience working with children who can support students in developing a comprehensive understanding of Islam and guide them towards taking pride in their Muslim identity.
**Knowledge of the Arabic alphabet & reading concepts are necessary, but fluency in Arabic is not required.

Pay: $35/hour
The time commitment of this job is 6-8 hours per week as follows:
-
10am - 2pm in-person classes on Sundays followed by 1.5 hr teacher debrief meetings (29 sessions per school year).

1 - 2 hours to review lessons on your own time and prepare for the upcoming lesson.

In-person teacher orientation (1 day during the last week of August)
Location: Manhattan (The exact location is currently under contract and will be shared by AUGUST 1st 2024)
