AFTAB MAGAZINE IS ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS!
SUBMIT FOR AFTAB X BMI COLLAB & SPRING '24!
AFTAB: A NEW YORK UNIVERSITY-BASED LITERARY MAGAZINE
Aftab is currently collecting submissions for our Spring 2024 publication and our Aftab x BMI collab for Black History Month!
In addition to our Spring 2024 publication, we are collaborating with NYU's Black Muslim Initiative (BMI) to create a digital publication on our AFTAB blog centering black Muslim creatives and writers. We're hoping to continue with this project every year and would love for you to contribute!
We're accepting all forms of creative work, including but not limited to poetry, short fiction, art, and photography. The deadline for BMI x Aftab submissions is March 1st, and the deadline for spring submissions is March 20th.
About Aftab
For over a decade, Aftab has built itself into a voice for Muslims and minorities as a platform for self-discovery and stories of identity.
Born in the Islamic Center at NYU, Aftab is also a publication that serves as an outlet for cultural, spiritual, and self-expressive pieces made by students and community members. Similar to its namesake, which signifies "sunlight" in Farsi, Aftab sheds light on the work of artists, poets, photographers, and writers that may find themselves without a garden for their work to flourish in.
No matter who you are, we invite you to take part in our narrative by submitting something of your own.
NOTE: Aftab accepts submissions all year around, but If you would like your work to be published in the Afab x BMI collab or the Spring '24 semester, please submit by the deadlines listed above.
