26th Night Request: Gaza Families Evacuation Appeal | Help Us Support Our Community Members Families Seeking Help To Evacuate
as'salaamu alaykum,
As the violence continues to escalate in Gaza, many are making the difficult decision to evacuate with their families from Rafah into Egypt. We have a few members of our community whose close friends and family members are in need of support to evacuate now. Below are a few campaigns that we can confirm are legitimate and will go towards helping families with children evacuate in pursuit of safety. Be sure to give what you can to support those in need as part of your worship on this blessed night.
Contributions made will be eligible for zakat but are not tax-deductible.
- Rayad Khan, a member of our community and NYU Class of 2004, is helping to raise funds for Taghreed who is a single mother in her 30s, her daughter Naya who is 7, and her son Khalil who is 5 at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-taghreed-naya-and-khalil-leave-gaza.The children's father abandoned them before Khalil was born and Taghreed has supported her children by working in graphic design and relying on family. Majd (32 years) and her husband, Mohammed Alghazali(32 years) whose home was destroyed in Gaza in a bombing, forcing them to seek refuge in shelters and ultimately flee to the southern region of Rafah. You can find more information on their situation and donate to help them evacuate by clicking here.
Please do give whatever you can. Whether it's $1, $5 ... $5000, every bit will make a difference. And please keep our sisters and brothers in Gaza in your thoughts and prayers. May Allah reward you for your generosity and give you and your loved ones only the best in this world and in the next. Ameen.
