Important dates and times

The Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) congratulates you on the approach of Eid Al-Adha, falling on Sunday, June 16. The IAR follows the official announcement of Eid Al-Adha date by the Saudi Supreme Court, as do the vast majority of fiqh councils and the ummah worldwide in observing a unified Day of Arafah and Eid holiday.

The blessed first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah start tomorrow, Friday, June 7. The Messenger of Allah () encouraged us to take advantage of these holy days by increasing in our acts of worship: fasting, prayer, supplication (duaa), remembrance (dhikr), and all good deeds. Fasting is highly recommended, particularly on the Day of Arafah, occurring on Saturday, June 15.

Eid prayers will be held at the Jim Graham Building in two shifts. The first shift will be held at 7:30 AM with the gathering beginning at 6:30 AM. The second shift will be held at 9:30 AM with the gathering beginning at 8:30 AM.

Please bring a prayer rug for yourself and your family. The 2nd shift Eid prayer and Khutbah starting at 9:30am will be broadcast live as a spiritual reminder for those tuning in from home.
