Course description: Marriage in Islam is revered as a sacred bond, emphasizing mutual respect, compassion, and partnership. It serves as the cornerstone of societal peace, fostering stability, harmony, and moral values. Through marital commitment, individuals cultivate love, support, and understanding, contributing to the flourishing of families and communities alike.
In this Seminar students will understand the legal framework of the principles and regulations governing marriage, divorce, and conflict resolution in Islamic family law. Students will also engage in a comprehensive discussion of the issues potential couples need to consider prior to marriage.
Objectives: To elucidate the significance of marriage in Islam as a sacred institution that promotes spiritual growth, companionship, and social stability. To gain comprehensive insight into Islamic family law, covering marriage, divorce, and conflict resolution principles and regulations for informed decision-making. To equip students with Islamic principles for marriage decisions, understanding spousal rights, responsibilities, and selecting compatible partners wisely. To learn Islamic conflict resolution using dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation to resolve marital disputes, emphasizing family harmony and peace.
