Subject: Together for Gaza: A Time for Compassion Over Tradition
Dear Allen Community Family,
Assalamualikum,
With hearts intertwined in unity and faith, it is with profound emotion that we pivot from our cherished community Iftar this year. This difficult decision springs not from loss, but from a collective calling to direct our compassion and resources towards those in dire need in Gaza. We will be canceling all our remaining community Iftars in hopes of focusing our efforts on supporting Gaza.
Our community at the Islamic Association of Allen has already come together to raise over $55,000 for Gaza relief, a testament to our shared spirit of generosity. Now, we embrace a greater challenge: to double our impact. We invite you to a special fundraising event on Saturday, April 7th after Isha, aiming to match our initial contribution, aspiring together for an additional $55,000 in support.
The absence of our Iftar gatherings marks a moment of reflection on the essence of community: support, unity, and the power of collective action. This year lets transform our tradition into a beacon of hope for Gaza.
In these times, our faith in Allah and unity as a Ummah shine brightest. Let us stand together, not just in thought, but in action. Thank you for your understanding and heartfelt commitment to making a difference.
We will redirect funds collected for Iftar to alternative causes in accordance with our donors' preferences.
