April saw many activities taking place across Houston from traditional Eid open houses amongst friends and families, to Eid Carnivals, Prison Eid Meals, Youth recognitions, Outreach, Support for the needy and much more.

ISGH Prison Program

ISGH Prison Program Director Yusuf Baker and his fabulous team whose names are too many to mention, delivered Qurans, dates and Iftar meals during Ramadan with amazing numbers shared below. May Allah bless them and all of those contributing or donating to the Prison Dawah effort.

Prison Units visited: 100

Muslims Served: 5,630

Ramadan Shahadah’s: 227

Dates served: 6,281 lbs.

Eid Meals: 4,621

Champions Masjid (Masjid AlSalam)

We want to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank our youth leaders, volunteers, whose hard work, creativity, and cheerful energy lit up the day for everyone. From setting up booths to running activities with a smile, they carried the spirit of Eid in every action.

May Allah (SWT) reward their efforts abundantly, accept their service as a form of sadaqah jariyah, and continue to guide them as leaders for our ummah.

Champions Masjid's three scouts achieved the prestigious ranks of Eagle Scout

We are proud to share that several of our scouts from Troop 321 and Troop 1321 have achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout!

Congratulations to:

- Salaheddin Sury, and 

- Falisha Afza Ahsan

and to their families!

May Allah (SWT) bless them and continue to guide them to even greater heights. Aameen.

Sister Strolls

River Oaks Islamic Center

Every first and 3rd Sunday of the Month for a walk through the park and coffee. First Meet Up is Sunday May 4th, and also The Sisterhood Collective every other Wednesday for learning, support, spirituality, community and empowerment.

Learning Arabic

River Oaks Islamic Center welcomes their new Imam Adeyinka Muhamad Mendes who has introduced to the central Houston community two programs titled “Learning Arabic” and “Friends, Faith & Food: A Journey Through the Quran”. 

Azeez Al-Shaair's Jour

Coming in May from River Oaks Islamic Center is Azeez Al-Shaair and his journey through the NFL “Built on Imaan”

Science of Hadith

Join Brand Lane Islamic Center every Saturday for the program Science of Hadith with Shaykh Dr. Al Ahmed. Also coming on May 18th is a presentation from the Muslim Research and Development

Foundation (the Islamic Council of Europe - jurisprudence), who will also be providing Imam training during the

week of May 19th.

DigitalDeceptions with the Moroccan Society of Houston and Youth

Masjid Hamza has a collaborative event “DigitalDeceptions with the Moroccan Society of Houston and Youth

for A Better Houston, happening on May 3rd.

Boxing Class

Masjid Hamza is having a girls only Boxing Class for ages 8 year and up.

Fajr Club

All youth boys and girls are welcome to join masjid Hamza's Fajr Club. It's happening every 1st and 3rd Saturday after Fajr Salah.

Summer Camp

Masjid Hamza's summer camp is starting from June 9, 2025. Registration for the summer camp is opened.

Study of Shaytan

In April, Cypress Islamic Center celebrated their Ramadan with a grand Eid Al-Fitr Carnival. They also hosted the ISLAMIC FUNERAL WORKSHOP presented by Shaikh Dr. Ehteshamul Haque. Coming in May, Cypress will host Salman Ghani who will be presenting a program series titled A” Study of Shaytan” every Thursday beginning May 1st . Please join.

DigitalDeCeptions

Beyond the successful and fulling Ramadan programs, Masjid Aqsa held an enjoyable Eid Carnival in early April and later hosted the ISGH Job Networking Business and Education Seminar. On May 3rd the program DigitalDeceptions will share the impact of Digital Media Technologies.

Spring Reflections

Maryam Masjid continued through April filled with guest programs for the youth, brothers and sisters, and begins May with a sisters program titled Spring Reflections, every Saturday from 11AM to 1PM.

Young Muslim Sisters

Maryam Masjid will host the YMS program every Saturday for ages 13-25.

Hajj Orientation Seminar 2025

On May 11th, Maryam Masjid will bring Al Rayyan Travel to present the Hajj Orientation Seminar.

Masjid Maryam Summer Camp

Once again, it’s also time to sign up for the Summer Camp.

Conversational Workplace English

Broadcasting from Maryam, ISGH Job Networking will continue the Conversational Workplace English

program every Monday and Wednesday through May 28th.

What everyone should know about Abraham (AS)

We are excited to announce an event featuring Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan! Join us at Masjid At-Taqwa, in collaboration with Bayyinah Institute, for a special Program for Kids and Youth on May 9th and 10th.
