The Etiquettes of The Masjid
Friday, November 1st | 6:00 PM - 7:45 PM

On Friday, November 1st, at 6:00 PM (after Maghrib prayer), the ISD Youth Group is hosting a valuable session for boys and girls ages 12 and up. This event will focus on the etiquettes of the Masjid, covering topics such as respectful behavior, appropriate dress, and the proper way to conduct oneself in a sacred space.

Whether you're new to the community or simply want to refresh your understanding, this is an opportunity to deepen your connection with the Masjid. Don’t miss out on this chance to learn and engage with others in a welcoming environment.

ISD Parking & Safety Updates - October
Safety Mandate | Pedestrian Safety and Parking Limitations

For the safety of all attendees, we kindly request that everyone use the designated crossing areas marked in orange when crossing Salem Church Road. It is safest to cross in groups, especially after busy events at ISD.

Additionally, please avoid parking in the areas highlighted in red for the following reasons:

1. The shoulder area near the German Club is for pedestrians only. Vehicles parked here force pedestrians to walk on the road, slowing down traffic.
2. The shoulder in front of ISD is reserved for pull-ins, drop-offs, and bus stops only.
3. Parking in front of the Gem Ambulance limits visibility for vehicles exiting their lot.
4. The right-turn lane onto Route 4 & 273 must remain clear, as parking here is illegal.

Your cooperation in following these guidelines ensures a safer environment for everyone. If you have any input or would like to volunteer, please contact Br. Ahmed Marshall at (302) 547-2503.

Did you take action for our brothers and sisters in Palestine today?

  1. Now more than ever you need to pick up your phone and make the call to your elected representatives in Congress - Tell them to stop the ongoing genocide of innocent Palestinian people in Gaza by supporting a ceasefire!

There can be no more business as usual until there is a permanent ceasefire

As a reminder, here are the phone numbers of Delaware's Senators:

Senator Tom Carper: (202) 224-2441

Senator Chris Coons: (202) 224-5042

Calling Script:

“Hi, my name is [Your Name] from zip code [your zip code] and I am requesting [Representative Name] to

  1. call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza

  2. do more to get humanitarian aid into Gaza

  3. And to stop sending our tax dollars/weapons to Israel to continue its genocide

Thank you”

  1. Need more support to do step 1?

Please sign up to join the WhatsApp group (link below) that is dedicated to keeping you motivated to keep calling - the results have been amazing - we are up to 72 members of  Congress who are supporting a ceasefire! We are averaging 150 calls per day but with your help we can get to a much higher number In Shaa'Allah.

Usl al-Bid'ah: A Full-Day Workshop
Saturday, November 2nd | 1:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Venue:
Islamic Society of Central Delaware
777 S. Little Creek Rd, Dover, DE 19901

Join us for a full-day workshop on Usl al-Bid'ah (Principles of Innovation in Islam), taught by Imam Ahmad Deeb, PhD. This workshop will address one of the most critical and debated topics within our communities—innovation in Islam.

What constitutes valid religious creativity, and how should we understand its boundaries? Are all innovations haram, or can some be constructive and beneficial for our faith? Imam Ahmad Deeb will provide clear guidelines, based on classical Islamic scholarship, to help us navigate these questions.

Don't miss this opportunity for an in-depth exploration of religious creativity in Islam and the tools to distinguish between rightful and wrongful innovations.
