ISCV Board 2025 Elections CORRECTION

Dear community members, the ISCV Board Elections will be held on Saturday, June 21st, in sha' Allah. Serving on the Board is both an honor and a responsibility a way to help guide and strengthen our growing Muslim community in Charlottesville.

We are now accepting nominations for the following board positions: 

Available Positions:

Vice Chairperson

  • Oversees the work of the committees.

  • Manages the day-to-day order of business.

  • Assumes all responsibilities allocated to the post of the Chairperson in the event of the Chairpersons absence.

  • Enforces the Masjids regulations as approved by the Board of Trustees.

Administrative Secretary 

  • Takes and keeps the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees.

  • Serves notice of the meetings in accordance with the provisions of these By-Laws.

  • Maintains all records and the seal of the corporation.

  • Sees that the seal of the corporation is affixed to all corporate documents in accordance with the provisions of these by-laws.

  • Receives membership applications and presents them to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Activities Coordinator 

  • Organizes or approves all activities inside the Masjid.

  • Provides speakers for Friday prayers. In the event that an Imam is not available, the Activities Coordinator shall serve as a substitute.

  • Takes responsibility for all ISCV sanctioned Dawah related activities.

Outreach Secretary

  • Organizes ISCVs outdoor activities.

  • Generates publicity for ISCV.

  • Fosters interaction between the non-Muslim community and ISCV.

  • Maintains links between ISCV and refugees within the ISCV community.

  • Presides over the Outreach Committee, when formed.

Nominations are due by Saturday, June 14th. Please use the following link to nominate yourself or another ISCV member. Each term is two years, and nominees must be current ISCV members.

We are also accepting applications for officers. The officer's responsibility will be to help the board member to whom they are assigned. Officers are non-voting and are not required to attend board meetings. Those who are interested can reply directly to this email.

Lets continue to build a strong and inclusive Masjid by participating in this important process.
