Join us for a serene evening of spiritual reflection, sisterhood, and community as we gather to break our fast together in the blessed month of Ramadan.

We will be joined by special guest speakers Ohio State Representative, Munira Yasin Adullahi, and Executive Director of CAIR-Ohios Cleveland & Northern Chapter, Faten Oden.

State Representative, Munira Yasin Abdullahi, a Columbus native and OSU graduate, advocates for Affordable Healthcare, Equitable Education, and Community-Building Infrastructure. Living with type-1 diabetes, she prioritizes access to vital care. Passionate about youth leadership, she began her public service in nonprofits and now represents OH-9 in the 135th Ohio House.

Faten Husni Odeh, Executive Director of CAIR-Ohios Cleveland & Northern Chapter, is a Palestinian-American civil rights advocate with a background in education, community empowerment, and advocacy. She has led civic initiatives, refugee assistance, and interfaith programs, focusing on civil rights, youth development, and community outreach.

Award Ceremony: Friday, March 28th, 2025-Ramadan 28th, 1443, a_fter the 4th Rakaah of Taraweeh Prayers._

Join us for a celebration of Quranic recitation and memorization! The Islamic Society of Akron and Kent (ISAK) is proud to host its Annual Community Quran Competition, open to children and adults.

Competition Rules:

  • Memorization (Hifz) with Tajweed

  • Registration is mandatory for all participants.

Children Competition (2:00 PM) Age Groups & Requirements:

  • 57 years: Surat Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursy, and Suras(from Surat Al-Humazah to Surat Al-Nas) of the 30th Chapter.

  • 810 years: Surat Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursy, and suras (from Surat Al-Tariq to Surat Al-Nas) of the 30th Chapter.

  • 1113 years: Surat Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursy, and Suras (from Surat Abasa to Surat Al-Nas) of the 30th Chapter.

  • 1415 years: Surat Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursy, and Suras (from Surat Al-Naziat to Surat Al-Nas) of the 30th Chapter.

  • 1617 years: Surat Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursy, and the entire 30th Chapter.

Rewards for Children:

  • 1st Prize: $200

  • 2nd Prize: $100

  • 3rd Prize: $50

Adult Competition (9:00 AM 1:30 PM) Age Group: 18 and above (males and females):

Requirements: Memorization of the following Suras with Tajweed:

  • Surat Al-Kahf

  • Surat Yaseen

  • Surat Al-Waqeha

  • Surat Al-Rahman

  • Surat Al-Dukhan

  • Surat Al-Najm

  • Surat Al-Nabaa

  • Surat Al-Mulk

Rewards for Adults:

ISAK Taraweh Childcare & Marketplace

ISAK Taraweh Childcare Registration & Guidelines

In alignment with ISAKs Child Safeguarding Policy, we kindly remind all parents that children may not be left unattended anywhere on ISAK premises, including the parking lot and buildings. Children must either be enrolled in an official program or remain under the supervision of a parent at all times.

We are pleased to offer childcare services for children ages 46 during Taraweh prayers. To enroll your child, please register here: isak.org/childcare

For older children participating in the Youth Taraweh Marketplace activities, please register here: isak.org/marketplace

Check-In Process & Wristbands

  • Parents must arrive early to complete registration and check-in their child.

  • Upon registration, each child will receive a wristband, which must be worn throughout Taraweh prayers.

  • Children without a wristband must remain with their parents and may not disrupt the prayer environment.

  • Any child left unattended will be escorted to the appropriate supervision room, and parents will be required to complete the registration process before picking them up.

YOUTH CORNER

We are excited to announce our special Ramadan Program for this year!

Join us every Sunday during Ramadan from Asr to Maghrib in the ISAK Community Hall for a meaningful and enriching experience designed for youth ages 13+!

Each session includes hands-on learning activities and inspiring khatiras to help us take full advantage of the blessings of Ramadan. Well also include our 4thannual Ramadan Madness, a fun and engaging team-based competition. Teams will compete to accumulate points through weekly games, with exciting prizes for weekly winners and a grand prize for the top-performing team at the end of Ramadan.

To make this experience even more fulfilling, well explore four key themes throughout Ramadan:

  1. The Power of Patience (Sabr)

  2. The Strength of Forgiveness (Afw)

  3. The Blessing of Seeking Knowledge (Ilm)

  4. Gratitude and Contentment (Shukr)

Iftaar will be provided and catered by local restaurants to share and enjoy together after Maghrib prayer.

Additionally, we are excited to host Youth Qiyaam Nights. These will held from after Taraweeh to Fajr and will include activities such as youth discussion, tahajjud, and suhoor!
