RAMADAN ANNOUNCEMENTS

Dear ISAK Community,

As-salmu alaykum wa-rahmatullhi wa-baraktuh!

The Islamic Society of Akron and Kent extends its heartfelt greetings to you and your loved ones for a blessed and spiritually enriching Ramadan. We express our deepest gratitude to Allah (SWT) for granting us the honor of witnessing this sacred month. May we seize this divine opportunity to engage in sincere worship, reflection, and acts of devotion.

According to the Fiqh Council of North America, the first day of Ramadan will be Saturday, March 1, 2025, inshaAllah.

Taraweh Prayer Schedule

We are pleased to announce that Taraweh prayers will commence the preceding night, Friday, February 28, 2025, following Isha prayer. Prayers will be led by Hafidh Ayman Alkesrawi, Imam Zobair Ahmed, and Hafidh Suliaman Abulhameed.

For those unable to attend in person, both Isha and Taraweeh prayers will be live-streamed on the ISAK YouTube channel, inshaAllah.

Dedicated Space for Sisters

Accommodations have been arranged for sisters in the downstairs prayer hall, with an additional conference room designated for mothers with young children. To maintain privacy and ease of access, men are kindly reminded to refrain from entering designated women's spaces or blocking their entrances.

Maintaining Peace and Respect

To preserve the sanctity of our prayers, we kindly request that congregants minimize socializing and disruptions inside the Musalla, foyer, and parking lotespecially as many will continue their prayers beyond the 4th and 8th Rakah of Taraweh. Smoking is strictly prohibited within and outside the Center.

Community Safety

During Taraweeh prayers, ISAKs Safety Committee and security personnel will be present to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Your cooperation with them is greatly appreciated.

Additionally, please adhere to the following safety guidelines:

  • Absolutely no children in the hallways or parking lot during the Taraweh.

  • If you see something say something. Please report all suspicious activities to the security team right away.

  • Shoes must be placed on designated racks to prevent hazards.

  • For the safety and comfort of all, gathering in the parking lot is not permitted.

  • The playground area behind the community hall will remain closed during prayers.

Solicitation Policy

Individuals or organizations may not solicit funds on ISAK premises without prior authorization from the ISAK Board of Directors.

Parking Guidelines

  • Parking in handicapped spaces without a valid permit is strictly prohibitedviolators will be towed.

  • The speed limit on ISAK premises is 5 mph. Please drive cautiously and remain vigilant for pedestrians, especially children.

  • In consideration of our sisters and elderly congregants, we encourage young men to park farther away and leave the first few rows open for those in need of closer access.

ISAK Taraweh Childcare & Marketplace

ISAK Taraweh Childcare Registration & Guidelines

In alignment with ISAKs Child Safeguarding Policy, we kindly remind all parents that children may not be left unattended anywhere on ISAK premises, including the parking lot and buildings. Children must either be enrolled in an official program or remain under the supervision of a parent at all times.

We are pleased to offer childcare services for children ages 46 during Taraweh prayers. To enroll your child, please register here: isak.org/childcare

For older children participating in the Youth Taraweh Marketplace activities, please register here: isak.org/marketplace

Check-In Process & Wristbands

  • Parents must arrive early to complete registration and check-in their child.

  • Upon registration, each child will receive a wristband, which must be worn throughout Taraweh prayers.

  • Children without a wristband must remain with their parents and may not disrupt the prayer environment.

  • Any child left unattended will be escorted to the appropriate supervision room, and parents will be required to complete the registration process before picking them up.

In an effort to foster environmental consciousness, we encourage everyone to bring reusable water bottles, which can be conveniently refilled at the on-site water fountain.

The Womens Halaqa is on hold during Ramadan and the program will resume in April, Jazakum Allahu Khairan.

YOUTH CORNER

We are excited to announce our special Ramadan Program for this year!

Join us every Sunday during Ramadan from Asr to Maghrib in the ISAK Community Hall for a meaningful and enriching experience designed for youth ages 13+!

Each session includes hands-on learning activities and inspiring khatiras to help us take full advantage of the blessings of Ramadan. Well also include our 4thannual Ramadan Madness, a fun and engaging team-based competition. Teams will compete to accumulate points through weekly games, with exciting prizes for weekly winners and a grand prize for the top-performing team at the end of Ramadan.

To make this experience even more fulfilling, well explore four key themes throughout Ramadan:

  1. The Power of Patience (Sabr)

  2. The Strength of Forgiveness (Afw)

  3. The Blessing of Seeking Knowledge (Ilm)

  4. Gratitude and Contentment (Shukr)

Iftaar will be provided and catered by local restaurants to share and enjoy together after Maghrib prayer.

Additionally, we are excited to host Youth Qiyaam Nights. These will held from after Taraweeh to Fajr and will include activities such as youth discussion, tahajjud, and suhoor!
