The Board of Directors at WIC is extremely excited to welcome Hafiz Othman Ladan as our Assistant Imam and Youth Mentor, effective immediately.
Since 2021, Hafiz Othman has led our daily Quran program and will continue in this role alongside his new responsibilities. With experience as a Health Educator and Youth Mentor at UMass Memorial Hospital and a part-time chaplain at the Worcester County House of Correction, he brings a wealth of knowledge in counseling and youth development.
A hafidh of the Quran with ijaaza in reading and memorization, Hafiz Othman studied at Holy Quran Academy (Sharja, UAE) and the Institute of Quran (Egypt), with a focus on canonical ways of reading the Quran (Qiraat). He holds a B.S. in Public Health from SUNY Potsdam (NY) and is currently pursuing a Masters in Islamic Studies at Boston Islamic Seminary.
In his new role, Hafiz Othman will work alongside Shaykh Vajid Pathan to educate and uplift our community, empowering our youth to become confident and engaged Muslims. Please see below for his current activities at WIC.
