Important Scam Alert: Beware of Fraudulent Calls

Assalamu Alaikum MIA Community,

We hope this message finds you well, InshAllah. We want to bring to your attention a concerning matter regarding a fraudulent phone call that has been reported. 

A person claiming to be "Dr. Muhammed," identifying as a member of McKinney Masjid, has been calling from the UK number +44 7730 010525. This individual is attempting to invite members to a Zoom meeting about the masjid's expansion.

Please be advised that this is a scam. McKinney Masjid will only communicate important information via official emails, and we will never make such calls to solicit participation in meetings.

To help you recognize potential scams, please consider the following steps:

1. Verify Caller Identity: If you receive an unexpected call, do not engage. Hang up and verify the identity through official channels.
2. Look for Red Flags: Be cautious of callers asking for personal information or money. Legitimate organizations will not request sensitive information over the phone.
3. Do Not Click Links: Avoid clicking on links shared during unsolicited calls or messages.
4. Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive any suspicious calls or messages, please report them to the authorities.
