Dear Community, Assalam-o-Alaikum,
Dear Community,
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
We hope this message finds you well.
Many of you have reached out to share your concerns and thoughts regarding the recent news that Imam Dahee has accepted a new position and plans to leave ICJC. Imam Dahee has been a cornerstone of our community for many years, earning respect and affection from all. He, along with Sister Eman and their children, have always been regarded as family by us all.
A few days ago, Imam Dahee submitted his resignation to the ICJC Board of Trustees. This news came as a surprise to the board, and we promptly arranged a meeting with Imam Dahee to better understand his decision. He informed us that he had received a new opportunity that he feels is best for him and his family. After performing Istikhara for a week, he decided to accept the position. We have not yet received any communication from Sister Eman, who serves as a teacher in our Quran school. During our meeting, the board expressed our desire to retain him, but Imam Dahee graciously declined any further discussion.
Since this news has circulated, there has been much speculation about Imam Dahees decision. We want to clarify that this decision was made solely by Imam Dahee and is not a directive from the ICJC Board. With a heavy heart we respect his choice and wish him and his family the best.
While he is leaving, our doors are open should he decide to discuss a return.
May Allah continue to strengthen and bless our community.
With best regards,
ICJC Board of Trustees
