Respected Brothers and Sisters,
As-Salam 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
As we witness the world around us shifting at an unprecedented pacesocially, politically, and spirituallyit is time we ask ourselves:
What is my role in this day and age?
Is it merely to look after myself and my family?
Is there something greater expected of me as a member of this Ummah?
Throughout our history, the Ummah has faced dark and trying times, many of which far exceed our current imagination. In those very moments, Allah (SWT) sent revivers and movements that reignited the light of Iman and reminded the people of their collective responsibility.
Today is no different. Going above and beyond is no longer a matter of choice rather it is essential. In these shaky times, we must study the trials of our predecessors, understand the revivalist movements that shaped our history, and realize how, through adherence to the Quran and a commitment to unity, Allah (SWT) granted victory.
I write to you today with two humble requests:
-
Please take the time to listen to Mufti Minhajuddin Ahmeds Eid Address, where he powerfully outlines the two essential actions we must take as an Ummah today. Click here
-
Register your family TODAY for Awakening the Ummah, our Annual Retreat taking place April 25 to 27 at Masjid DarusSalam. This retreat will explore various revivalist movements of the past and help us realign our responsibilities for today and the future. Sign up here
I would sincerely appreciate it if you could reply to this email to let me know whether you plan to attend in person or virtually.
Jazakum Allahu Khaira,
Misbahuddin Ahmed, M.D.
