ICNEF ANNOUNCEMENTS

Message from Imam

Peace, blessings and ultimate mercy of Almighty God be upon you

*Guidance of Islam during,
Hurricanes/ Thunderstorms*

We are going through another hurricane of category 3 to 4, Milton

Lets learn about facing such dire conditions through the guidance and teachings from our amazing Deen
Ill be summarizing them in few major points:

Hurricanes, earthquakes, thunderstorms, cyclones..etc. are
1-   *To show us whos (REALLY)  in charge* !

: : " : [: 13] : " . " " (723) "" (3641) "" (235) " " (556).
And when its heavy thunderstorms,
Abdullah bin Zubair, may Allah be pleased with him, used to recite:
Glory be to the One, thunders praises and glorifies Him, while angels glorify Him out of His fear,
then says:
its a severe warning for the people of earth!

2-   *Taking proper safety precautions*
Especially as in this dire situation when,
State of emergency has been officially declared!

My humble request from my community members, all the Floridians and the affected hurricane areas to,
please try to stay safe at your homes or designated shelters!

Do not go out unless its necessarily required!

On such occasions, during hurricane, thunderstorms.. especially the ones which could cause harm,
3-   *Perform Salah, during such fear times, at your home/ shelter* :

The teachings of Prophet Muhammad are clear :
As Azaan () was instructed to be called by:

" / "
(Pray at your homes)

Instead of

(come for prayer)
(Ref: Sahih Al Bukhari)

So its better to pray at homes or given shelters in such dire conditions

If able to pray in the masjid, then we are allowed to combine two prayers, Zuhr n Asr, and Maghrib n Ishaa.

During such desperate conditions, avail the opportunity to get more close to Almighty Allah
Through:
4-   *Seeking forgiveness of our shortcomings, sins, (ISTIGH-FAAR/ )*

5-   *Becoming more humble before Almighty Allah*

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
During heavy winds, thunderstorms, Ive observed Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, going to his knees, and praying:
O Allah, turn it as a form of blessings, and do not turn it as a form of torment! O Allah let it be beneficial and not harmful!.

Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, whenever there was extreme wind blowing, he used to get on his knees and start reciting
1- Surah Al Falaq and
2- Surah An Naas.
( )
(Teaching us, how to become even more humble before the ultimate powers of Almighty Allah).

6-   *Getting closer to Allah through
prayers/ Dua*:
: .
Narrated by Ayesha, may Allah be pleased with her, whenever it used to rain, Messenger of Allah used to pray:
O Allah, turn it as a beneficial rain

Another Dua of Prophet:
Sayyidh Ayesha RA said,
When the heavy winds used to blows,
This was the Dua of Prophet :

Transliteration:
Allaahumma 'innee 'as'aluka khayrahaa, wa khayra maa feehaa, wa khayra maa 'ursilat bihi wa a'oothu bika min sharrihaa, wa sharri maa feehaa, wa sharri maa 'ursilat bihi

Translation:
O Allah, I ask You for the good of it, for the good of what it contains, and for the good of what is sent with it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of it, from the evil of what it contains, and from the evil that is sent with it.
(Sahih Muslim 2/616, Al-Bukhari 4/76)

:
" ".   (1014) .
When there was heavy rain, storms,
Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him used to pray:
O Allah,
Let it be around us, not upon us!
O Allah, let it hit the valleys, the wilderness, on trees, peaks of the mountains, instead of harming our homes.

7-   *Do not curse the storms*, hurricanes.. etc. Instead learn the true concept!
:
.
"
( )

Prophet Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said:
Never curse the wind (thunder storms, hurricanes...), but if you face what you fear off, then say:
O my beloved Allah, I ask you for, the good of this wind and for the good which it carries, O Allah, I ask for the best of what it has being commanded with,
I seek Your protection from its evil and from the evil it was sent for.
O Allah, turn it a blessing upon us and do not let it a punishment.

: : (( )) - - : : .

Prophet peace be upon him taught us:
Winds are among the army of Almighty God, it brings blessings and it brings punishments, once you face it, do not curse it! But instead ask Allah for its benefits and seek His protection from its harms.

Few more Ahadith:

May Almighty Allah keeps us safe and protect all of us.

O Allah, do not destroy us with Your wrath, do not finish us by Your torment, and always keep us covered, in your protection.
