Welcome Sheikh Khalid Omar - interim appointment as Imam of ICNBM

We are pleased to announce that Sheikh Khalid Omar has accepted our offer to serve as our interim imam at ICNBM.
Sheikh Khalid is a distinguished graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, Faculty of Hadith (2013 - 2017), and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in pastoral care and community service. Sheikh Khalid holds a Diploma in the Arabic Language from Madina Arabic Institute, where he completed a one-year program focused on reading, writing, and speaking Arabic.
By the age of nine, Imam Khalid became a hafidh and memorized the entire Qur'an. He also studied with Sheikh Said Duale, whose students compete internationally. He holds an Ijazah in the narration of Hafs from 'Asim, participated in and won many Quran competitions, and also teaches Quran to students of varying ages.
He is noted for his motivational and clear public speaking skills and his ability to communicate effectively with target audiences. His qualifications and dedication to Islamic scholarship are matched by his deep compassion and ability to connect with people of all ages.
Imam Khalid has extensive experience in Islamic leadership and teaching roles:
Khateeb and Islamic Studies Teacher at Al Farooq Islamic Center, Nashville, Tennessee (February 2017 to 2019). In this role, he delivered Jumu'ah and Eid sermons, and provided Islamic reminders for community members. He also delivered voluntary sermons and lectures at various Islamic centers and conventions.
Imam of Tarawih at the Islamic Center of Jackson, Jackson, TN (Ramadan 1440), and Islamic Institute of Palm Beach County/Masjid Al-Firdaus, West Palm Beach, Florida (Ramadan 1444, 1445, 1446). He oversaw and managed Ramadan Tarawih and Qiyam Prayers with Khatmah of the entire Qur'an.
Interim Imam at the Islamic Center of Portland (Masjid As-Saber) from February to May 2020.
His presence will, in-sha-Allah, enrich our masjid and strengthen the spiritual and educational programs of our community. He will serve our ICNBM community mostly during the weekdays for the next few months, in-sha-Allah. In the meantime, the Imam Search Committee will continue to look for a full time imam for ICNBM in-sha-Allah.
We ask Allah (SWT) to bless Imam Sheikh Khalid in this role, and we invite all community members to welcome him warmly, attend his programs, and benefit from his knowledge and leadership.
