Words of Wisdom
As the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah approaches, we extend our heartfelt prayers to our brothers and sisters who are preparing for their journey to Hajj. We ask Allah to take them there safely, accept their Hajj, grant them Hajj Mabroor, and bring them back to us safely.
For those of us remaining, this is a reminder that we should also begin preparing ourselvesphysically, mentally, and spirituallyfor this sacred season. These first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are considered the best days of the year, and no deeds are more beloved to Allah and more purifying than those performed during this blessed time.
With a couple of weeks remaining before these blessed days begin, we encourage everyone to plan and prepare to maximize the blessings of this season, InshaAllah. Just as we exerted ourselves during the last ten nights of Ramadan seeking Allah's mercy and forgiveness, let us approach these days with similar devotion.
Remember that the Day of Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, is the best day of the year. Let us prepare to fully reap the spiritual rewards of these blessed days.
Allah guide us toward goodness and away from any evil, and may He facilitate the journey for those performing Hajj as well as those who wish to but have not yet been able to.
Hadeeth of the Day
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad said:
"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days (of Dhul Hijjah)."
The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?"
He replied, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, except for one who goes forth with his life and property and does not return with either."
