Understanding Al-Shakur: The Most Appreciative
Alhamdulilah, Allah is great and to Him belong the greatest names and attributes. One of the beautiful names of Allah is Al-Shakur (the Appreciative).
There are many aspects of this divine name, including:
Allah rewards abundantly for even small good deeds
He continually increases people in blessings
He gives even more to those who express gratitude
One of the best ways to demonstrate appreciation and gratitude to Allah is to extend that same gratitude to His creation. The Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu alayhi wa salaam) encouraged us to make dua to Allah after every prayer to help cultivate gratitude in our hearts.
We ask Allah to allow us to be among the grateful and to increase us in His favors and blessings.

How might you express more gratitude in your daily interactions with others? Remember that thanking people is a form of thanking Allah.

Al-Ash'ath ibn Qays reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Whoever is not grateful to people is not grateful to Allah.

ICN Volunteer sub-committee would like to invite and encourage the community to sign up to volunteer for various ICN events, facilities maintenance, and activities. There is always something which you can help with.
- Masjid Property Maintenance (Rearrange, Clean, Storage, etc.)
- Jumuah Lunch Setup & Manage
- Events Planning & Setup (Family, Kids, Eid, etc.)
- Parking & Security
- Managing Supplies
- and much more.
We recognize that our dedicated volunteers spend time away from their families, their work as well as their opportunity for ibadah in order to make things easier for all the ICN community. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
