TEACHERS APPRECIATION

Last weekend, MIU honored our special teachers with treats provided by the MIU PTC, and a special Teacher Appreciation Dinner.

Dr. Omar Mather from the ICCV Board expressed what many of us feel: Our teachers are doing an incredible job teaching, guiding, and nurturing our children in both knowledge and faith.

The teachers and staff at MIU were deeply grateful for the thoughtful gifts from parents and students, as well as for the opportunity to teach, inspire, and shape the next generation.

Our MIU Board member also shared reflections from a recent program a message meant not just for teachers, but for all of us who care about the future of our children and community. See the Imam's Corner below.

IMAM'S CORNER

Honoring Our Teachers & Strengthening Our Community Together

A Message for Every One of Us
Indeed we all care deeply for our children. And part of caring for them is being active with our Masjid. Activity doesnt just mean events, fun, or games. In light of recent global events, we learn that as an Ummah, we should be beyond that.
Being active means doing what Allah expects of us and holding onto that responsibilityespecially in the short time we have in this world.

Intention Matters
The Prophet () said, Actions are judged by intentions. Whatever role we playas parents, teachers, or mentorslet's make sure our actions are rooted in sincerity for the sake of Allah. You give and Allah would give more!

Teaching Is a Blessing
Many teachers have safeguarded not just their own Iman, but that of their childrensimply through their dedication. Children of committed teachers often grow up more connected to the Masjid. Thats no coincidence.

Children Notice Everything
If our kids seem distant from the Masjid, sometimes it's because they see a gap between our words and actions. Lets be the example we want them to follow.

Small Steps = Big Change
If just the teachers and parents who are reading this start attending the Masjid even once a day with their children, in a few years well see a community so vibrant that weekend schools will outgrow their spaces. It starts with us.

A Warning We Shouldnt Ignore
In places like Brazil and Mexico, once-active Muslim communities lost their connection to the Deen. The Masajid emptied. Lets not allow that to happen here. Our commitment now shapes the future.

Lets Shape Our Community Together
We are always looking for volunteersnot just for events, but for community-building as well. If you want to help grow a strong, lasting Islamic environment for our children and families, we welcome you.

Together, let's strive for what matters.
Not just for todaybut for generations to come, inshaAllah.

With gratitude and purpose,
ICCV/MIU/PTC Team
