IMAM'S CORNER

The Night That Shapes Our Destiny

There are nights that rewrite our destiny coupled with choices that shape what is to come. Laylat-ul-Qadr is the night when destinies are sealed, when angels descend in overwhelming numbers and the gates of mercy are flung wide open.

Ibn Abbas (RA) described it as the night when every decree for the coming year is writtenwho will live and who will die, who will rise and who will fall, what will be given and what will be extracted. As we stand in prayer, as we whisper our duas with sincerity, our fate for the next year is also being decided.

Ibn Abbas (RA) also told us something incredible: On Laylatul Qadr, the angels descend in such great numbers that the earth becomes overcrowded with them and they greet the worshippers until Fajr. As we are here at the musjid or some of us in our homes, at this very moment, the angels are looking for those who are awake, who are praying, who are remembering Allah. They are searching for hearts that are calling out with hands that are raised in sincerity with shedding tears.

What if this is the night when Allah erases all your sins? What if this is the night when your deepest dua is finally answered? Ibn Abbas (RA) also described how the signs of Laylatul Qadr can be felta night of peace, neither too hot nor too cold, where the sun rises the next morning soft and without harsh rays.

Pray like youve never prayed before. Make dua like your future depends on itbecause it does. Seek forgiveness as if youve been given a new chancebecause you have.
Tonight and the remaining days can change everything, InshaAllah!

May Allah (SWT) accept each of your dua's, ameen!
