It's simple. We need each other.

Dear IIC Community,

Assalamu Alaikum,

As we embark on a new chapter in our journey, I am thrilled to share some exciting news and reflections on our community's future.

Over the years, the Ibrahim Islamic Center (IIC) has grown into a vibrant, dynamic community rooted in our shared values of faith, love, service, and friendship. This growth has brought new opportunities and challenges, emphasizing the need to strengthen and enhance our efforts. To better serve our community, we are welcoming a new Executive Director.

This decision highlights the importance of having dedicated leadership focused on the day-to-day operations and strategic development of our center. By doing so, I will be able to devote more time to scholarship, pastoral care, stewardship, and religious educationareas essential for our community's spiritual and intellectual nourishment.

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce Amna, our new Executive Director. Amna has been a key member of our community for four years. Her experience and passion for intentional design makes her an exceptional leader for our center.

A native Houstonian and mother of two, Amna graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems. She began her career in San Francisco, consulting across various industries before transitioning into the tech sector, where she organized and structured start-ups during periods of significant growth. While in the Bay Area, Amna served the Muslim community at Taleef, where she learned about convert care and creating authentic community spaces.

Amna and her family moved back to Texas after the birth of her first child, where she founded Ruh Karima, a women's art collective. As the art director, Amna led various installations. Although Ruh Karima is currently on pause, Amna is excited to bring her experiential design expertise to IIC.

During her four years at IIC, Amna developed the Little Stewards children's program (previously known as Suhba Camp) and played a crucial role in organizing and executing our largest Ramadan fundraiser.

Amna's vision for IIC is to maintain our community's intimate and supportive environment while fostering growth and visibility. She aims to create a space where everyone feels at home, including families, elders, and youth. Amna's appointment as Executive Director is a testament to her dedication, hard work, and the trust she has earned from IIC's leadership and community members alike.

We are confident that under her leadership, IIC will continue to thrive and serve the needs of our community with excellence and compassion. We look forward to your continued support and involvement as we move forward in this exciting new phase for our center. Please join me in welcoming Amna to her new role and praying for her success.

With gratitude,
Khals Rashaad
