Assalamualaikum Dear Community Members,
Before we get to weekend events, we request that you pleasetake a few minutes to read through the key points below; these address some of the concerns that have recently come up at HIC.
- Please consider carpooling to weekend events; lately, we've receiveda fair amount of complaints related to blocked cars and exits both. We also urge everyone to drive slowly and with extra caution on masjid premises.
- Once you enter the facility, keep in mind that young children should ALWAYS be with their guardians. We cannot stress enough how important this is! Unfortunately, there have been incidents where young children have been out on masjid grounds while their parents are in the musallah - this is a big safety concern!Guardians are liable for their children at ALL TIMES on masjid premises.
- If your child is old enough to pray, then he/she should be in the musalla with you praying and not in the gym or roaming the facility. Unfortunately, middle schoolers have been caught roughhousing in the gym and injuries have also been reported - again, this is unacceptable behavior at the masjid. We understand that sometimes taraweeh is hard but if you plan to stay as a family, please encourage your children to pray; inshaAllah, these are their building blocks to a lifetime of practice.
- Please do your part in keeping the musalla clean. The carpet was recently replaced and we've already been receiving complaints of food smells emanating from it. Alhamdulillah, a generous donor has offered to cover the cost of installing hand sanitizing stations; inshaAllah, those should be available soon for your use. As a forewarning, please remind children that these are to be used for cleanliness and hygienepurposes only.
- Please do not engage in conversations in the musalla - even during breaks, everyone is involved in their own dua, dhikr, and/or contemplation. We especially urge you to be mindful of this during the khatrias by the Imam or other speakers.
- Lastly, to help run everything in a smooth manner and to ensure a safer environment, the masjid will now be closed at 11 PM sharp. We will also have volunteers and masjid staff patrolling common areas - we ask that you treat them with the respect they deserve and cooperate with them.
Alhamdulillah, our masjid thrives on our general goodwill towards each other and our togetherness in community. Please remember that as we navigate this beautiful month of Ramadan! Finally, for weekend events, please see below:
