[HIC] Strengthening Muslim Families Conference - Thank You for Attending
As Salaam Alaikum:
On behalf of the Huntsville Islamic Center, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the Strengthening Muslim Families Conference -Fiqh, Faith, & Family Values, on June 7th - 8th, 2024 at HIC.
The conference was well attended with more than 200 participants and was a great success. The facilitators, panelist, and most importantly our invited guest, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, reported that attendees generated a great deal of enthusiasm and energy during our time together. They were particularly impressed by your candid responses and dialogue during the conference breakout sessions and panel discussion.
Each of you made a significant contribution to this effort to develop a common understanding about Muslim Family Life, including:
Challenges Among Youth & New Converts
Parenting in the West
Mental Health Challenges & its Stereotypes
Best Practices as Male leaders @ Home & in the Community
By your attendance and feedback, each of you made a significant contribution to this effort towards creating healthy dialogue for developing an understanding about the common issues we are experiencing. Collaborative approaches and honest dialogue like this help us find viable solutions to ensure our families continue to thrive and stay healthy.
Through education and empathy, we can begin to pull back the layers of fear, doubt, shame, and other practices that inhibit our families from seeking help and finding pathways and essential resources for healing. We look forward to creating future platforms like this that will help strengthen our Muslim families and communities.
