[HIC] Elections Results and General Assembly Update

AssalamualaikumDear Community Members,

As you know, we held our annual General Assembly Meeting andElectionsyesterday. Alhamdulillah, the quorumwas established and we were able to successfully complete the process.

The followingboard members were elected:

• Vice President - Maisoun Zaza
• Religious Affairs - Mohammed Aly
• Dawa Affairs - Idrees Leslie
• Education Affairs - Waseem Quadri
• General Secretary - Misha Siddiqui

Additionally, the General Assembly approved two amendments to the bylaws by 2/3 majority and two resolutions by simple majority. These will be added to the relevant documents and uploaded to the HIC website within the next two weeks, inshaAllah!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank ourelectioncommissioner Br. Mohiddin Baig and his team of youth volunteers. Their sincerity and hard work in running the entire process is much appreciated.We also want to give a special thanks to everyone who attended yesterday's event (whether in-person or by proxy) - your presence reflects your involvement in our community!

We'd also be remiss if we did not acknowledge the many contributions of our outgoing board memberBr. Munaf Musani. May Allah reward you for all your efforts!

This sends a copy of your email to every boardmemberand allows someone to take the lead on getting back to you - HIC board members are not always available to answer calls made to the masjid. We also humbly request that you ask for clarification directly from the HIC board on any matters of concern before resorting to socialmedia or other such means. Also, keep in mind that masjid employees will not open the donation box for any reason - please work with the HIC President or Treasurer regarding any such issues.
