[HIC] HIC General Assembly and Elections - Nov. 2nd, 2024
AssalamualaikumDear Community Members,
TheHIC's annualGeneralAssemblyMeeting andElectionswill be heldon**Nov 2nd, 2024 (Saturday),**to coincide with our monthly potluck.
The following four positions are open for re-electionthis year:
- President
- Treasurer
- Secretary of Masjid Affairs
- Secretary of Social Affairs
If youwish to serve on the boardin any of the above-mentioned positionsor know of someone who would be a good candidate, pleasefill out the attached Nomination Form and email it to the following address:[email protected]. You can also hand it in-person to any of the board members.Keep in mind that the****deadline to submit nominations for open positions is Oct. 15, 2024.
Remember, if you are nominating somebody, make sure that you havetheiragreement before submittingthe nominee'sname. Additionally, please note thatasper the bylaws,a board member for any of thesepositionsshould be "a voting member of the Association for at least one year and in good standing within the Muslim community."
Community members are also invited tosubmit any amendments to the by-laws and resolutionsin writingto the board by Oct. 15, 2024. These will be voted on during theGeneralAssemblyMeeting.
Once we have a list of nominees, a meeting will be held ona later date to allow community membersto get to know the candidatesand review proposed amendments (if any). Details will be sent out in a separate email.
We'd like to encourage the community to come forward and participate in thisprocess.
