EPIC Gym Membership Verification
Assalamu Alaikum Dear Community Members,
We would like to inform the community that starting tomorrow, Monday October 14th, only registered members with a valid EPIC Gym ID card will be allowed entry.
Please see the EPIC Gym Policies & Guidelines below, which will be in effect starting Monday, October 14th. It is important to follow these guidelines.
East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) Gym Policy & Guidelines
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the EPIC gym is a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all members. These rules are designed to promote fairness, prevent injuries, and ensure that the facility is well-maintained and used responsibly.
1. Membership Registration Process
● Eligibility:
○ Membership is exclusively available to individuals residing in the following ZIP codes:

■ 75074
■ 75095
■ 75080
■ 75081
■ 75082
■ 75044
■ 75002
■ 75048
■ 75098
○ Only individuals aged 12 years and above are eligible to become members.
● Registration: Prospective members must register with EPIC to access the gym facilities.
● ID Card Issuance: Upon successful registration, members will receive an EPIC Gym ID card.
● Policy Acceptance: All members are required to read, understand, and accept all gym policies before their ID card is issued.
● Membership Validity: Membership is valid for one year from the date of registration. Members must renew their membership annually to continue using the gym.
2. Guest Policy
● Guest Access: Each member is allowed to bring one guest to the gym for a fee of $5 per visit.
● Member Responsibility: Members are fully responsible for the behavior and actions of their guests. Any violations of gym policies by a guest will result in consequences for the hosting member.
3. Gym Hours of Operation
● The gym is open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday.
● Note: Hours may vary on holidays or during special events. Members will be notified of any changes in advance.
● Exception: The gym may be closed or reserved for EPIC events. Members will be informed of these closures or reservations in advance.
4. Facility Usage Guidelines
● Scheduling: Members must adhere to the gym’s schedule regarding which sports or activities can be played at specific times. The schedule will be posted at the gym and on the EPIC website.
○ Only scheduled events are allowed to take place in the gym.
● Respect for Equipment: Members and guests must use gym equipment responsibly and follow all posted instructions.
○ Members are prohibited from damaging gym equipment. Any damage caused may result in penalties, including but not limited to, suspension of gym privileges.
○ Members must clean up after themselves, including putting away weights, mats, and other equipment after use.
● Cleanliness:
○ Trash must be disposed of in designated bins.
○ Members are responsible for keeping the gym clean and tidy.
● Conduct:
○ All members and guests are expected to exhibit respectful behavior towards others in the gym. Harassment, bullying, or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.
○ Members are expected to avoid any physical altercations,including pushing or pulling.
● Furniture Use:
○ Chairs or tables are not allowed in the gym unless approved by EPIC management.
● Food and Drink:
○ No food or drinks are allowed in the gym to maintain cleanliness and safety.
○ Water bottles with secure lids are permitted.
● Health Considerations:
○ Members should not use the gym if they are feeling unwell, especially if they have contagious illnesses.
5. Personal Belongings
● Storage of Personal Items:
○ Personal belongings must be stored in designated lockers or areas. The gym is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
○ Bags, jackets, and other items should not be left on the gym floor where they may create tripping hazards.
● Valuables:
○ Members are advised not to bring valuables to the gym. If necessary, valuables should be stored securely.
6. Conduct Towards Others
● Respect for Others:
○ Members must respect others in the gym, including not interrupting others’ playing time, not making excessive noise, and maintaining appropriate behavior at all times.
○ Harassment, bullying, or inappropriate behavior towards other members or staff will not be tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion from the gym.
● Dress Code Adherence:
○ Members should adhere to the dress code not only for their own comfort but also to respect the cultural and religious sensitivities of others.
7. Safety & Security
● Surveillance: The gym is under surveillance 24/7. Footage may be reviewed by management as needed to ensure compliance with gym policies and for the safety and security of all members.
● Emergency Procedures: Members should familiarize themselves with emergency exits and procedures. In case of an emergency, follow the instructions of EPIC staff.
● Health Considerations: Members are encouraged to consult a physician before beginning any new exercise program. EPIC is not responsible for any injuries sustained while using the gym facilities.
● Children Supervision: All children below the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
● ID Card: Members must present their EPIC Gym ID card upon request by EPIC staff. Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately.
8. Policy Enforcement & Amendments
● Policy Violations: Violations of the gym policies may result in temporary or permanent suspension of gym privileges.
● Policy Updates: EPIC reserves the right to amend these policies as necessary. Members will be notified of any significant changes.
We would like to remind all members that our gym serves as a valuable resource for the community. Let us all commit to using it responsibly and maintain its excellent condition for years to come.
