From Hate to Hidayah: The Story of Brother Omar

Assalamu Alaikum Masjid plus,

He walked into the hospital that night with chest pain and a KKK tattoo on his arm.

The nurse checked him in quickly, knowing his life was on the line.

When he saw the name of the doctor, Mohammad, on duty, he scowled and said,

“Get me a different doctor.”

The nurse replied,

“There is no one else. He’s the only one here tonight.”

The man had no choice.

Dr. Mohammad performed the procedure and Wayne's life was saved.

After some time, Wayne walked into the doctor’s office—curious, confused, still carrying the weight of his old beliefs.

He asked, “What do your people have against mine?”

The doctor looked at him gently and replied,

“I am a Muslim, we don’t hate anyone. We love all people—for the sake of God.”

That single conversation turned into many more.

Weeks passed. Then months.

Hatred melted into understanding.

Bias gave way to brotherhood.

Eventually, Wayne took his shahadah.

He took the name Omar, and he dedicated his life to sharing the truth of Islam.

At GainPeace, we see stories like this unfold every day. Sometimes in prisons. Sometimes on campuses. Sometimes at booths in shopping malls. A moment of kindness, a conversation about truth—can change a life forever.

Will you help us reach the next Wayne?

Your donation helps us distribute Qurans, train volunteers, and host hundreds of conversations that lead hearts to Islam.
