Being Joyful on the advent of the Month of Ramadan

The Messenger of Allah, peace and prayers be upon him, used to give good tidings to his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, at the advent of the month of Ramadan:

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived."'

Narrated by Ahmad and An-Nasa’i, and authenticated by Al-Albani in “Sahih Al-Targheeb” and “Tamam Al-Manna.”

Yes, by Allah, it is great news, as Ibn Rajab, may Allah Almighty have mercy on him and may Allah have mercy on all our scholars, said, “How can the believer not be given the glad tidings of a month in which Allah opens the gates of Paradise? How can the sinner not be given the glad tidings of a month in which Allah closes the gates of Hell?” How can the worshiper not be given the glad tidings of a night that is better than a thousand months? A month whose virtues are incalculable, and whose benefits are not enumerated, so how can the great news of its coming not be shared?
